hey in many countries, as we know, they don't want casino affiliate pages and block these websites, have you ever been lucky enough to have your website blocked from any country? and if so what did you do?

many times I see pages such as casinos that have the name casinobet1 and after 2 months it is casinobet12

Not too much can be done in the long run. However, a lot of people use VPNs so you don't lose all traffic from these sites. Casinobet1, casinobet2,..... etc. These are nothing more than redirects to mirrored sites after blocking the first one, after blocking the next one another redirect and so on all the time. You wait for some time before blocking, so this "new" page takes some time.
However, this is a technique used more by operators than partners. For an affiliate SEO is much more important than for a brand and it is hard to play this way, although some do it too.

LIke Daniel already explained, it is pretty common practice in black markets to redirect a blocked domain to a new domain. What they do is setup a 301 redirect (technical seo term to indicate that an old page is redirecting to a new page) by using cpanel or htaccess to set up this redirect. It is a very simple and straightforward process. This way the new page will continue to rank without losing much of the seo value of the old domain. Added benefit is that this way the new domain which usually has the same domain name but with an added number is not blocked and thus they are circumventing being blocked.

Actually in Australia, affiliate sites get blocked sometimes as well, and they basically do the same thing. But I noticed that it is a lot harder for affiliate sites to keep their rankings. They usually slide downwards and never completely recover. At least thats what I have seen.

I wanted to add that the redirect will also work with the trackers you use to promote the casino. The tracker will be changed by the casino brand to reflect the new domain, and as an affiliate there is usually nothing you have to do.

Yeah - I was one of the victims of that.
I had an Australian-focused site which was completely blocked by the Aussie nanny-state
But my traffic wasn't great anyway, so I've just converted it into a global site instead.
Hopefully they won't have the power to block that as well.

@NDG Was the site huge before it got blocked? One of my sites is growing fast in RU, so I am a bit concerned that it will get blocked.

Yes, the site had a lot of Russian traffic, but it wasn't focused on Russia or even have pages in Russian. Some of those
visitors could have easily turned on a VPN and visited the website after the ban. We have no way of knowing if they did.

If it's block with a wildcard, no, your screwed. However, did you try using a subdomain?

So, I did more research and found out that the main URL and one individual page is blocked.
The Russian traffic disappeared after the block but it seems that Russians can still visit other
pages on the website. Not sure why you would block the homepage and not use a wildcard.
Maybe I should make a sub-domain /ru/ for the Russians, and hopefully they will come back.

@NDG - I was thinking ru.yourdomain.com.

NB - Google does not associate a sub-domain, with the main domain.
Hence why you have to verify a sub and main etc., etc.

Why? My guess, some domain owners, issue sub-domains to clients.

Therefore the entity who owns the main domain, isn't necessarily the sub-domain user.

Keeping the two separate per se, I would think, would be better for your SEO, as both shouldn't interfere with the other, because as G is concerned, they would be two (2) individual sites ;)
