The much-anticipated ICE Barcelona 2025 is underway at Fira Gran Via, marking its first edition outside the UK. The event, which began on January 20, has attracted an impressive crowd of 55,000 industry professionals from over 170 countries, eager to explore the latest innovations across 120,000 square meters of exhibition space.
Organized by Clarion Gaming, this year's event serves as a critical platform for networking and knowledge-sharing, bringing together leading operators, regulators, and innovators in the gaming industry. ICE Barcelona offers an extensive lineup of discussions, product showcases, and networking events that aim to set the tone for the industry in the coming year.
Major Highlights and Key Discussions
The exhibition kicked off with a welcome breakfast, followed by an insightful keynote address from Tom Nieman, CEO of Apollo Gaming Group. Attendees were welcomed by Erwin Van Lambaart, chairman of the European Casino Association, who provided an overview of the industry's current landscape and future challenges.

The rebranded Sustainable Gambling Zone, sponsored by Flutter Entertainment, highlights the industry's ongoing commitment to responsible gaming, featuring 26 organizations dedicated to promoting safer gambling practices.

ICE Barcelona 2025 has also introduced its first-ever Pitch ICE session in Spain, providing a platform for innovative start-ups to present their ideas to a panel of industry experts. This year's competition saw 73 entries, a significant increase from last year’s 27 submissions in London. Twelve finalists are competing for a $50,000 prize, with notable entries including EmpowerYourPlay, Mfc Games, and ChatBet.
