Some good starting points are below if you have not already done so, these options costs next to nothing and should boost your traffic quite a bit. If you are after paid advertising I have no suggestions sorry as I have never used it.

www.onlywire.com is a great start....

Pinterest is the next one....

Then you have Facebook (make a page), Google+, Youtube (make a channel) and Twitter.

Lastly is have some patience and the traffic will come to you.

Im all out of patients, im after paid results.

Ad networks that work etc.

I'm sure ads work to some extent, but the only ad network I would trust is Google, Bing, Yahoo... one of the big search engines, basically. I have tried a lot of others and they are all junk. Not worth the money spent regardless of the keyword.

Food for thought.. dont we need a license of some kind for Google, Yahoo etc.. the larger ones ?

For google PPC they are not actually hard to get for UK anyway, just follow the guidelines & get approved, I am not familiar with the guidelines for bing keywords, yahoo etc but I assume google would be the amongst the strictest

I follow people who follow large casinos (land) on twitter, most of them then follow me back, I then post attractive / interesting tweets pointing back to my site. Try tweepi to gain followers...

Follow people you know will have an interest in gambling

I do PPC with google from time to time. The licence is easy to get just fill out a form and you'll get approved so long as your site doesn't break any of their rules.

It's not cheap though and going in bidding on 'online casino' will cost you dearly. Focus on specific keywords and have custom landing pages for each ad - the more relevant you are, the cheaper the clicks.

I would also suggest setting up a seperate version of your site, or specific landing pages if you'd rather, to use on PPC like a sub domain (then block all robots except the adwords bot so it doesn't get indexed and end up in the SERPs). On this sub domain use different tracking codes so you can see the value of the traffic you're bringing in.

Few questions... I have a UK site, targeting uk players, hosted in the UK... How do I go about getting approved? Do I use google.com or google.co.uk? Also, is it enough that my sites are in the UK, or does my payment method have to come from the UK also?

I'll try to make some time later tonight to research this more... But in the meanwhile if anyone has any insight on getting approved from the US, I would love to know more.

You can only advertised in regions where online gambling is regulated (eg: google.co.uk) - just make sure that when you set your adverts up you geotarget them to an appropriate country.

As for getting approved, it's just a form you fill in - I'll see if I can dig out the link.

Me too actually - I didn't do any last month but I think I've talked myself into running a campaign in March. :)

Where will these magical pixie visits come from? Your site doesn't rank anywhere?

Visits do not come from organic search if that is what you meant. My site is brand new. Traffic will come from all sites participating in pokerAdFactory network. Each site installing ad zones. Our Ad engine fills those ad zones. Once you start running your Ad campaign, your ads are going to display on those sites. People click on ads - you receive visitors.

tough crowd...It is easier to try the ad network out! You can launch your ad campaign at no cost and get 100 visitors to boot. It is pretty hard to lose anything with an offer like that :)
