This is completely ridiculous. Amazon was awarded a patent for taking photos (of people) on a white background. :mad:

That is absolutely ridiculous. Maybe their is a clause in the patent that covers the
creation of such photos using certain technology or a new process that Amazon
has developed. I can't see the US State Department paying Amazon for all of the
photos with a white background that are a requirement for American passports.

It's ridiculous because it's not true. Amazon don't have a patent on photographing things against a white background.

They do have a patent on a particular very specific way of photographing things including focal lengths, studio lighting conditions and various other stuff. This is a dumb patent too but let's get the facts straight before we move directly to outrage.
