A new chapter in the legal thriller of "fighting Big Tech": three plaintiffs—Julian Bargo, Lamar Prater, and Rebecca Pratt—have filed a lawsuit against Apple and Google under the RICO Act, a law typically used against organized crime.
The plaintiffs claim that tech giants are knowingly facilitating the spread of unlicensed sweepstakes casinos in the U.S. According to them, Apple and Google don’t just host these apps in their stores but also:
Julian, Lamar, and Rebecca are demanding compensation for all U.S. players who have lost money in such apps. And, of course, they want Apple and Google to stop "assisting" illegal gambling activities. We totally believe they'll succeed this time.
Interestingly, two of the plaintiffs have previously sued the sweepstakes operators themselves, but now, they’ve shifted their focus to bigger fish.

- Provide analytical and advertising tools
- Help target ads at "high-margin" players
- Process payments and take a cut from every transaction
