Betsson/Affiliate Lounge stealing players and closing account!

Hi everyone, this is my first post on AGD even though I have been a gambling affiliate since 2005.

I promote all Betsson's brands on all my Swedish casino and poker websites, mainly Spelacasino.se, and today I got a very disturbing mail in the inbox. It was sent from Affiliate Lounge and it said that my account would be closed due to inactivity.

I have thousands of players tied to my accounts and the rev share is never below 3k euro. Last month it was over 6k euro. There was only a few new depositors in February, but still, isn't this criminal? Anyone else got this kind of e-mail?

This is the content of the e-mail:

We are writing to notify you that your account has been inactive for the past 6 months (has not generated a minimum level of activity / new depositing players).

Under rule 7.9 of our terms and conditions the Company reserves the right to set limits for a minimum level of activity on Affiliate’s accounts and to terminate any agreement not reaching the limit.

Consequently our Affiliate Agreement is now being terminated. Your March and remaining unpaid commission will be paid out in early April 2014 and your account will be permanently shut down after this process. You will not be eligible to earn or receive Commissions after the effective termination date.

If they indeed are closing my account, is there any way to take legal actions? After all we are talking about tens of thousands of euros each year.

i will present first time ever a charge when they close my account, my reasoning is this, when legalized in my country, they will have this in court to setle and that will or might be enough to cast doubts in their fairness to receive a license in the future. This will be my stance from now on, try at the best of my ability to let a trail so that government when choosing licensees can have a background of who breaks the rules and who does follow them. i would do more if i could...

I received the same message last night. I removed all the banners. For me, since 2009.
But I work very little with them. It is a scandal to close accounts affiliate when there are players who deposit!

I just tried to call my affiliate manager, two signals then it's the busy tone. I have now idea what they are trying to do here. I checked my stats and I earned over 9k euro from one account in February, It would be downright criminal to close an account like that, in my opinion.

Ok, my affiliate manager just got back to me and said that they won't close my account. It was an automatic message... Strange business this whole thing. I guess I have to believe it for now.

From my understanding it's an automatic message sent based on an algorithm of slow affiliate accounts. Mine was obviously tagged automatically. In my case, the affiliate manager told me it was incorrect, however I don't know for the rest of the affiliates that received this mail

Me neither. I don't do a huge amount with them, but the numbers are fairly consistent - it seems as though it's when your RMP numbers drop (even if it's from 1000 to 100) that they start poking around.

my manager also said that it was only a warning and they did not meant they would close it down, i replied that that is no motivator, i might get sick again, or just have bad luck and send more traffic when i know they have this rules?

7.9 The Company reserves the right to set limits for a minimum level of activity on Affiliate’s accounts. Such minimum activity levels will be continuously reviewed and the Company reserves the right to terminate any agreement not reaching the limit. Such limit shall not be unreasonably high and reflect the intention of avoiding accounts where the revenue does not cover the Company’s internal costs for maintaining the account and the payout procedure.

of course this is bs because some stats on a database have a near 0 upkeep value, and you only pay affiliates once you made money out of them, so i dont buy this line of thought....
