Me again.

Im wondering what a big player constitutes as, ive not been at this for long, 450 and 550 a month have been my two biggest players and i mean deposit wise not commission.

Ive seen plenty of casino players play at 20.00 plus a spin, albeit not very often and i was wondering what other people have in their net or what would people class as a whale.

Or could it be better to have lots of little fish instead of one big fish as fish do STINK when they have gone bad.

Catching a "whale", just as in real life - is a very difficult task. They are pretty rare animals.

Back in "the good old days" of 2008, when MG & Rival were still taking USA players I did get a handful. I would class a Whale as someone who deposits over $5K in a month. I think my biggest one ever did something like $20K in one month.

These days it's nearly all minnows, with the occasional Trout - certainly noting to get too excited about.
The advantage of that though, is I do get a pretty steady (though small) income.

I was -$38000 on one casino group yesterday , Woke up this morning only -$9000 ,had a player give back $30,000 and rest came from couple whales.They are out there and this is from a RTG casino .

I was -£5k with one program yesterday, +£5k today... I'm thinking I should avoid checking my stats there for the rest of the month to keep my blood pressure down!

I'm definitely a fan of mid-range players. High-rolling players cause almost as many giant losses as giant profits.

When I see $1000+ in commission from a single player then there's a good chance the whole lot will disappear in the near future when they continue playing.

I'm much happier to see 10 players x $100, then the balance is less likely to fluctuate and more stable overall.

players usually do win sometimes, they have wagered a total of £120k and are down a total of £19k

So I just had my first ever whale He deposited multiple times within 3 days ($24k in total), and burned $8k. Then just disappeared. This was a month ago now, played only 3 days, each day with at least one deposit.

I'm wondering if this is normal behaviour among big players?
Maybe I'm paranoid, but can't get out of my mind that he was contacted and cross-promoted to a sister casino. Or worse, plain de-tagged from my acount. 3 days of such player activity seems just about the time a manager would need to identify a whale and take action..

Any thoughts, experiences or advices would be greatly appreciated!

I prefer not to name the operator publicly (PM me if interested) as it would sound an accusation. They were fair to me, and it is very much possible that the player simply had enough and cashed out. I have all the stats and have been credited with commissions accordingly.
Just wondering if it's likely that the player was cross-promoted, and is there anything I can do about it?

If the player was cross-promoted, there isn't really much you can do to be honest.

Hard to know without knowing the group/company you're dealing with

If you aim to have a mix of 80/20 or 90/10 minnows/whales it gives you a steady income from the small players and irregular/occasional boosts from the whales. You are never reliant on the whales for income and have no need to panic if a whale leaves.

The more players you have the less important leavers become as a % of the total and you can focus on adding new players knowing the income stream is reasonably settled.

If your income is dependant on active whales, you are vulnerable to them leaving or being taken over by rooms with poor business ethics.
