Bodog Affiliates have been marked with a warning. The reason is that their new terms will allow them to drop your percentage to 10%. (non-retroactive)

**Added

  • If you are a NEW affiliate, you can have commissions as low as 10%.
  • If you are an EXISTING affiliate, your NEW players can be commissioned at 10%.
** /Added

While their website DOES state this, you must remember if you are a new affiliate that this is the case. That is a super-low percentage. In my opinion, the amount of work it takes to market a property is higher than the 10% commission you would gain (unless you got super-lucky and got a whale).

However - I would prefer my whales to end up at 25% - 40% elsewhere with no chance at a 10% month.

Regardless, they are marked with a warning-only because the term is not predatory or retroactive. It is simply a low paying option.

Hi Andy

what do you mean by new affiliate? I have to check my signup date I think it's just a few months....

The term is for new affiliates and the effective date is: Latest Update: May 25, 2010 according to the terms and conditions.

It is important to note that this term affects both NEW affiliates and OLD affiliates in the following manner:

Any NEW players will be affected by the term. Your OLD players are safe under the old contract. This means that if you do not agree with the new terms, DO NOT SEND THEM TRAFFIC.

Again - I believe this is a big mistake by Bodog and will limit their reach, but it is not a predatory change.

I also think this is a HUGE mistake. 10% is insulting.

When a program starts cutting corners like this, watch out.

Oh but don't forget they will count the negatives with 25%!

note that if Net Revenue for a given player is $ < 0, the negative amount shall be calculated at 25% of such amount

Considering they also have negative carryover, this group is not worth promoting anymore.

Looks like good old Calvin is starting to show his true colors when it comes to affilaites.

My Grandpa used to say... "Never trust a man whos eyes are set real close together and has an obviously plucked unibrow." Glad I listened to him.

Hi,

please Help!

My Commission Plan:

Net Revenue

With the Net Revenues plan, you'll earn between 25% and 40% of net revenues from the Sportsbook, Casino and Poker Room, depending on the total net revenues earned each calendar month. Commissions are earned on combined total of Sportsbook, Casino and Poker wagering activity. The percentage breakdown is as follows:

ok, I just want to be clear with this new term, as my stats show I haven't brought them any players.....so any and all new players I would send them would only be 10% Net Rev share?

Revenue per calendar month
Percentage

$1 - $9,999
25%

$10,000 - $49,999
30%

$50,000+
40%

Please note that you cannot change your program once it has been chosen.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to working with you.

Regards,

They should have been working on the stats program they have been promising for the last year that actually shows clicks/visits, etc. Instead they are looking for ways to reduce the cost of doing business at our expense.

1. Spend no money developing tools for us to analyze whats going on
2. Change terms that can save them money on our backs.

sucks because we finally started making some money with this group. will remember this and point my affiliate manager to the thread.

right now
Bodog can do some damage control are free to reverse that move, later on - like with everyone else, it will be much harder to win us back. Where is Becky? Is Becky an affiliate manager? She was on the affiliate side of things -- maybe she can help us now?

When I visited their promo site with C.A. and his babes in videos enjoying $$ I jumped off the boat and decided never to join such group.

Negative carryover + 10% if you do not promote sounds like 888.

I would remove all links JMO.

BTW the linklove to bodog ............ please remove the links !

@ BB1WEB : can not reach you bud, can someone tell him he is basically sponsoring CA's boat by listing Bodog on his site ?

Thnx

Hey Everyone,
We appreciate your feedback and I can assure you that we do not take changes our terms and conditions lightly and look at all aspects of the program when making such decisions.

As noted by Andy, Bodog did not make any retroactive changes (existing partners will not be subject to the min players) as we respect the contracts that we have in place with our partners and will always do so. We made the changes to the structure for new revenue share partners as we believe that it’s a stronger model for long term success with our program as it targets and allows us to focus our efforts on those that are committed to being strong and dedicated partners. With the feedback that I received from Andy prior to going live with these changes we have made the commission levels as transparent as possible – we are not trying to hide behind anything, but rather show that we are truly focused and committed to our partners that have the same level of expectations for results as we do.

I might be interesting for affiliates to note that we did look at other commission program options, including structuring all revenue share tier levels based on monthly acquisition numbers much like C-Planet and AffiliateWide (just using those two as an example). Through our analysis we found that a rev share structure solely based on monthly acquisition numbers had a far greater impact on affiliate commissions, resulting in about a 15%-20% decrease across the board compared to our structure. We felt that this wasn’t fair to affiliates as it greatly limited their earning potential.

Rhondagrace – if you have an account with us already, this will not change your program and you will not be subject to these terms (regardless of how many players you’ve sent to date).

Engineer – I’d say that the 10% minimum doesn’t indicate that we’re cutting corners or raise any flags. We’ve made the minimum players very reasonable at 3 RMP in 6 months and I think it shows more about us being committed long term to those partners that are committed to us as that’s what we are focusing our energy/efforts on. If the changes were retroactive and impacting our current deals, then I could see your point.

Sipka – with respect to the no negative carry-over I do appreciate your feedback and can say that it’s something that we have had much internal discussion and analysis of. Although I won’t commit to any changes, what I can say is that we are committed to partners who show commitment to us and we are always willing to discuss what makes business sense on a case by case basis.

We have always been up front that we do not accept all affiliates into our program and that we are committed to working with affiliates who either drive good traffic or have the potential to do so. I honestly don’t expect that any of our new partners who promote us to have any issues with hitting the minimum numbers of players. We do understand that these levels of minimum players may not work for some affiliates, and respect that it’s decision to promote us or not. By not making it retroactive we are not forcing this upon anyone. For those that don’t see the minimum players to be an issue, I’m confident that we provide a strong program which is trusted, stable, committed to our valued partners and has a great future across all product channels globally.

Thank you,
Richard

I’d say that the 10% minimum ... shows more about us being committed long term to those partners that are committed to us as that’s what we are focusing our energy/efforts on.

Quotas seldom if ever show dedication to the affiliate - they are primarily a way to assure the program that they are getting the most bang for THEIR buck!

"Valued partner" says everything - if you give us this # of players we value you - if you give us one less than that number - we couldn't care less about you and you are hereby warned - perform or get out.

I am always looking for a partner who tells me things that... NOT!

** Affiliates must remain active in the Bodog Affiliate program to earn at the Net Revenue commission levels. An active affiliate is defined by an affiliate who refers a minimum of 3 depositing players in a rolling 6 month period. Affiliates who fail to refer the minimum number of players and are on the revenue share program will have their monthly commission percentage lowered to 10% until they reach the minimum requirement at which time they will once again be back to the standard revenue share program.

you know, I'm not very experienced in all this Net and RMP talk. I just want a simple uncomplicated fair plan. 25% lifetime Net Rev Share for all players I bring you Richard for life, whether there active or not, give this to me straight, please. from what I understand is if I don't continue to bring you at least 3 depositing players in any 6 month period my commission rate goes down to 10% for all existing players, I want a simple plan, if I bring you 1 player and he deposits in one month, then disappears for a year, then comes back starts making deposits again, that I'm still going to receive 25% on his losses. if this is not the case... then I dont want to promote you.

Hum...very interesting, and disturbing. Hey, Bodog has to cut something out, to throw all those lavish dirty trashy sex party's. it's kinda like the governor in my great state of Massachusetts, what's the easiest thing to cut, or should I say tax. it's bad enough cigs now cost $8 bucks a pack, our governor also thought a candy and soda take would help fix our budget, just like bodog is cutting back on affiliates earnings... someone has to get the cut "

The rich get richer and the poor stay poorer"

This is very Bizarre. The timing is bad?

Calvin Ayre Party

And

How to take Bodog Seriously?

Hey guys! I see that Richard has addressed your q's and concerns, but I do want to clear one thing up: Calvin Ayre has nothing to do with Bodog Affiliate or any of the decisions they make. Calvin sold the Bodog.com operations to MMGG back in '06 and no longer runs any gambling sites- he does retain an interest in the brand licensing organization BodogBrand.com (the company which I work for) and his new media project is the pro-industry news site and "Tablog", CalvinAyre.com (the site for which I am the head on-site reporter).

For more info on Calvin, check out his wikipedia page: Calvin Ayre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thank!! :)

Ok, is this correct:

Current affiliates will in no way be affected and will never be reduced to 10% under any circumstances. All stays the same.

Affiliates signing up after the deadline will be under a quota.

I think this is correct, have you talked to Richard about it or are you basing it off of the comment at GPWA?

You are correct dominique. Only NEW affiliates who open an account after we announced these changes are subject to the minimum player requirement. As an existing partner you will NEVER be reduced to 10%.

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks Richard, I've been waiting for you to get online (Skype) this morning for a chat about this - but this is good clarification :)

From our chat previously, I had thought you said otherwise, but that was in regards to CPA (not Revshare).

Again - thanks for the clarification.
