Back in the day, well before all this regulatory BS came to town, a whale was anyone who dropped 50K+ a month. But to be frank, that was chicken feed. The big boys were dropping 3x, 5x some even 10x more a month. Those were the days - everyone was making cash hand over fist, back then.

Over the years, I've watched the cash-sum of what is considered a "whale", drop and drop. Hell, these days anyone dropping $5K a month is considered a Whale.

Which leads me into the title of this thread.

Before I promote a casino (unless they're well known and have long and solid history) I'll visit the casino's live chat. I'll send an email. I'll even drop a few bucks.

Affiliate managers will tell you anything (we have the best conversion etc., etc., etc...), but none of this means anything, if players aren't treated well. What I mean by well is... emails are answered quickly, and players (customers) are not feed BS or blown off by crap when dealing with CSR's et al.

Some of you may have noticed I've been giving Bitstarz a bit of curry lately. It's nothing personal, but other Direx N.V casinos have been up to some dodgy shit of late. And, anyone who knows me, knows, I outlaw dodgy casinos/aff programs.

Anyway, after some thought, decided it was a bit unfair to judge Bitstarz given, they are CM accredited. So instead, I signed up as a player in May 2020.

Before continuing with the Bitstarz story, I'd like to side step for a moment, and tell you about my experiences at slotsmillion (AU can no longer play there).

When I joined slotsmillion.com, dropped $3K that 1'st Saturday. Monday, the VIP Dept gives me a courtesy call. After some friendly chit-chat was told he'd credited $250 CASH (no wagering) to my player account.

That's pretty much how it panned out from there on-wards. I deposited (lost) VIP took care of me... That's how it should be! Repeating... THAT'S HOW IT SHOULD BE!!!

Back to Bitstarz.com
1'st day I signed up, dropped $3.9K. Didn't play for a week or so after that, then returned and played some more. All up: Total deposits AU$6959.79, Withdrawals: AU$300.

I'm not a clueless putz punter, I know how all this works, and what I can and can't expect these days. So I reach out tonight to Bitstarz's Live Chat, and ask about their VIP program. The info provided was sketchy at best. Worse, the CSR blew me off.

I've had my fair-share of whales over the years. One thing I've learned, they don't ALL drop buckets of cash straight up. Most tend to suss things out 1'st. Exactly what I was doing at Bitstarz.

But because one of their CSR's can't think outside the box, or is too young to form his own evaluation of a certain player, the CSR pissed a potential Whale off, by disrespecting that customer. If this happens to me, then it's happening to other players too at not only Bitstarz but probably other casinos too.

The issue all seems to stem back to CSR's who are either too young (with no casino exp), or are not given any amount of leeway or the ability to think for themselves. Both accounts are not good for players. Especially those players who, if they received the attention, they likely turn into very loyal players.

The problem seems to be that some casinos tend to get a bit cocky. They forget, if it's not for players depositing, they have NO casino. They have no business. Hence, every player is important, and every player could be their next whale.

It seems to me that, historically speaking, people who grew up in a free market environment better understand the meaning of customer care and will have less of a cocky attitude when dealing with their customers. I could be wrong though.

The 18 year old CS staff just want to give you your bonus and get you on your way, CS is a big weak point for many casinos
