so what is some good software to use to develop sites in?

my site is so old, I've managed to patch it over the years to keep it profitible but it has met its match.

I've been hand coding the thing for years. ???

I only use wordpress, very easy to setup and manage. Also very popular so you can find plugins for anything you would want, and answers to any problems you could ever run into.
