Hi guys,

I'm looking to do more paid adverts on social media. While I'm aware I'm not going to get the initial return while I work out best strategies etc, I'm just using the money I'd gamble so it's no loss.

I'm getting frustrated with FB and wondered if anyone UK based has had any joy with them? They say they want a legal memo certifying that my site is legal to operate within the UK, even when pointed to ample advice from places like the UKGC saying that there's no need for a licence for affiliate sites. My issue is that the solicitors I've contacted for letters have all come back saying that it's not an area they specialise in. I don't understand why they make it so difficult, unlike Twitter who (once you get past the auto-replies) acknowledge that UK only advertising is fine.

So has anyone managed to get sponsored ads going with FB? If so, who did you use to get them certified?

Thanks in advance :)

I've had 2 pages shut down, large ones in the past.

There's lots of myths and views on this problem.

I currently have had my latest page up and running for around 5 months.

Don't post any affiliate links, only links to your site.

Boost posts rather than paying for likes.

When it asks for interests by very careful what you set it on, we specialise in football and horse racing. We set the interests on football and horse racing instead of gambling, tipster etc.

Best advise I could give you is to just run the gauntlet and set it back up again if they shut you down
