Facebook now charging $1 to send a message

This is pretty interesting, I ran into this today... So someone emails me and tells me to contact them via FB, but since I have no previous FB connection to them, FB is asking me to pay $1 to send a message directly to his inbox..

Holy Crap... I guess they are trying to eliminate SPAM in a way but charging for it just makes it kind of wrong... they could attack that problem a different way I would think. In my personal experience though, I hardly ever receive SPAM on Facebook so who know what the deal is here.

Eliminate spam? It is exactly the opposite. Either way the message goes to a person's Other Folder but if you pay it goes to their inbox. They are encouraging you to pay to spam people.

Yeah you are right, they are just profiting from SPAM when before there weren't making any profits from it.
