It's will be interesting to see how Canada handles this.

Calvin has not broken any Canadian laws, so the idea of extraditing him to the US is questionable at best.
From what I understand, Calvin has been opening his very very fat wallet and spreading the cash around in Canadian politics... a Billion dollars will buy you a lot of political and legal cover in Canada, or anywhere for that matter.
Not to mention, that the US has lost a LOT of influence with Canada over the last few years and there is quite a bit of resentment in Canada toward the US right now.

I call it even money, if Canada extradites Calvin to the US or not.

I wonder if some Book is going to start taking bets if Calvin gets extradited or not... if so I got a Bill down on Calvin staying in Canada and giving the middle finger to the US legal system.

This is certainly an interesting turn of events now...in an 'Associated Press' article posted on the Las Vegas Sun yesterday they state:

"In addition to the 50-year-old Ayre, prosecutors say the indictment names website operators James Philip, David Ferguson and Derrick Maloney."

That statement gives the impression that the Feds are also going after ad partners and website promoters.

I think Calvin is being used as the 'lesson' for those in the US market about Sports Betting.

From everything I have read this is all about Sports Betting and Money Laundering sports betting wagers.
I personally think that if Calvin would have kept out of sports betting, he would not be in the position he currently is.

US Attorney said:
“Sports betting is illegal in Maryland, and federal law prohibits bookmakers from flouting that law simply because they are located outside the country,” said U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein.
