Finland plans blocking of gambling payments 2021

''Ministers outlined last week’s budget talks that the state is trying to block money transfers to the gaming accounts of foreign gambling companies. According to one estimate, Finnish players lose up to EUR 300 million a year to online gaming companies other than Veikkaus. In practice, banning money transfers to foreign online casinos and sports betting companies would be an obligation for banks and payment intermediaries operating in Finland.''
