General Discussion - Why do some programs pay quickly while others drag their feet?

Hi all,

Since I've dropped most of casinos connect with RA/CR and also another couple of programs who turns out they were bundling, it's left a bit of a gap in my income for the first 1/2 of each month.

Credit where credit is due, RA would always pay like clock work, I can't recall them every paying any later than the 5'th.

Under the circumstances I find myself in right now, I've got to wondering why RA with so many casinos can get their sh#t together month after month and pay within the first week. I've asked a couple of that late payers and they seem give me stupid reasons, least ones that don't add up.

So although stomping me feet wont change anything, I'm still inquisitive as to why or even how some MGS casinos can pay early and others, it's as if they're holding off as long as they can...

What are your thoughts?

Edit: Should say most of my payments go to NT, unless it's a big chunk of change, then it's wire.
The late payers are all NT payments.

Cheers

:)

Two-fold.

1. what KK said

and

2. because they don't know how to run a business properly or lack adequate financial backing to run their operations professionally.

but both of these reasons are inherently connected ... #2 comes into effect and our money is used to pay winners, development, etc... so then #1 applies... they need our money to run their operations poorly.

the one GOOD thing about the upheaval in the industry right now is that losing a lot of income right now gives affiliates a good chance to do whats right - shaking the bad programs and only affiliating with programs that pay on time and fairly...

Just wish I was home right now to apply those tactics better myself right now!

There is no other justifiable reason why ANY affy program can not pay in the first few days of the month IMO.

My big issue right now is Brightshare. I realise they are accredited here BUT as an accredited program they should be more capable of paying affiliates on time - it states that in the accreditation guide among others points.

Their terms and conditions state:
BrightShare Affiliate Program Terms & Conditions | BrightShare | Casino Affiliate Program

i. BrightShare calculates the commission payments at the end of each month and makes the payments on the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month, or on the first business day after the fifteenth (15th) day of the following month.

However that's no longer true. They've changed this to the 20'th.
BrightShare Affiliate Program Payment Options | BrightShare | Casino Affiliate Program

A cynical person may believe the date was not changed in the terms and conditions agreement to avoid the change being picked up in an AGD T&C scan. The last update is reported - Last T&C (Affiliate Contract) Change:
2009-07-31

Well this month it was almost the 23'rd before I received payment. Almost 3 days past their abridged payment agreement date. Is this going to turn into another Vegas Affiliates fiasco where due payments get paid on the last day or worse breach into the next month.

If payments are this late, given the current industry melt down, is this an indication Brightshare are in trouble too. Will the next take over from Casino Rewards be the BS Group ???

"Almost the 23rd"... So that was the 22nd then? :p

I don't know if they've changed that date or not, but I do know they have always paid me later than the 15th every time since 2007, except April 2009 which was spot on the 15th.
After that one it was always on 16, 17, 18 or 19 days, except Jan 2011 which was on the 21st.
So this month (paid on the 22nd) is the latest they have paid me yet.
Whether this has any significance or not is a bit too early to tell IMO...

Is it possible that some casinos pay as late as possible to earn interest from our commissions? Otherwise its probably just a matter of the casino being really unorganised. Mainstreet are brilliant, they are usually the first ones to pay :)

Nothing surprises me i9n this industry anymore, so that's probably more than likey. And as KK mentioned our commissions are probably being use to pay Paul.

I suppose my major beef is if the T&C's state "XYZ" then the aff programs needs to follow these terms too. Regardless what's stated else where the T&C contract agreement takes precedence.

Otherwise why bother having T&C agreements.

Don't they make interest on the affiliate balances? That might be the biggest reason why some companies are slow to pay out.

Guys... I think I cracked it!
