Germany submitted the revised edition of the gambling State treaty to the European Commission.
The fourth editions of the State Treaty on Gambling still must be ratified by 13 of the country’s 16 federal states before it can come into force. Upon ratifying the legislation, states will be bound by its terms until 31 December 2028.
Industry stakeholders mostly reacted negatively due to the inclusion of numerous restrictions.
A €1,000 deposit limit for players, will be extended across all products, or slots, player stakes will be limited to €1 (each spin must last an average of five seconds) and jackpots will be excluded...
Operators’ license fees will be determined by projections for amounts wagered.
