Get out of our SERPS. I don't see the purpose of YouTube ranking on keywords that don't include VIDEO :( It outranks on so many terms that people simply put up stupid videos of slots to be at the top of the SERPS. It's real stupid, IMO.

anyway... that's my frustration when I key in different terms and see the top 4 spots go to Youtube.

I agree. It is so easy to rank a youtube video compared to a webpage, even if the page is far more informative.

Do you think Google's preference has something to do with their ads shown on youtube? I do.

??

Google owns YouTube - it bought it in 2006 for $1.5 billion.

Yes, they did. Still - there is no reason they need to be in the top of the SERPS when there is actual content out there. I shouldn't really get those videos unless 'video' is part of my query, IMO.

Google is a business .. so their ads cash cow will rank highly in their search engine for anything they want.

If people don't like it they will "vote" by using other SEs ...
But the general public is actually hooked on multi-media responses (saves all that tricky reading?!)

I don't foresee any change soon from google.

Exactly what I was thinking too gooner, I just said it all sly :emoticon-0143-smirk

Of course they will not change, but here is something refreshing and it is gambling related!

I have a sub-affiliate that loves to make videos of slot machines in land casinos and he makes money from adsence. He does have a little site where there is a banner and his vids hosted, but that is his bread and butter. For those who do not know, those are the ads you see in YouTube.

The interesting thing about that is that Google wont accept "Gambling Sites" into their adsense program typically.
So it's interesting to see that a video of youtube probably does not get the same "vetting".
