As the affiliate business model has been changing rapidly lately, money sites like like CAP and GPWA are not providing real support to its members and are not preventing sponsors to cut affiliate deals hence making T&C more affiliate unfriendly.

By posting questions like have you ever gambled on your mobile device they want to make others feel there is a community and some social interaction.

It is just to get traffic for the sponsors hoping you sign up and or give them exposure.

I just do not visit those sites that have only $$$ in mind that often anymore.

More could always be done I guess not only from CAP and GPWA but by us all.

I'm not a member at CAP so don't know much about them any more. Michael, Steven and everyone at the GPWA have always gone out of their way to help me when I asked for it as Andy does here. Thanks Andy and crew here !

In the end all the community's are built by us individual affiliates. It would be easier to straighten out a bag of pretzels without breaking any of them than it would be to get affiliates to agree on some points :)

I can't speak towards CAP and GPWA, but I continually try to keep programs honest. We have certainly gotten many terms amended and many changes reversed. It does not matter to me if the program is a sponsor or not. If terms change and they are unfavorable, sponsorship would be removed.

What we have to do as affiliates is honor those designations so that we aren't promoting programs intending to rip us off. It's a 2-way street (IMO). Hope I don't get blasted for that statement :)

We are definitely seeing a lot more changes recently... the way to stop that is to walk away from those companies. Stop sending them traffic. I promise I'll shut down sponsorships here if they mess with us. That's the only promise I can make.

You only just worked this out now? ;)

The GPWA platinum / gold / silver sponsorship thing is and always has been a joke. They persist hiding behind the mealy-mouthed line that "its clearly labelled sponsorship, not a judgement of how good they are for affiliates." Well I'm sorry but if your a site that purports to look after affiliates' interests, then you don't put shite programs like Affiliates United, Euro Partners, and (previously until enough people complained) Gambling Wages up in lights in your platinum section. Their own forums are filled with complaints about these supposedly "platinum" programs, but as usual money talks. The programs are willing to pay for those positions because they know that affiliates see them and think that "platinum" does in fact imply some sort of credibility. If it didn't they wouldn't pay. The only value that site provides is the forum which allows affiliates to talk to other affiliates and the programs directly.

CAP were even worse, setting up their own casino then recommending affiliates sign up without disclosing their ownership, in effect taking advantage of the very community they were supposedly looking after. I don't buy the "we're all nice again now" BS, they had their chance and blew it. Fool me once, shame on you...

This is the only site I believe is actually genuine in protecting affiliates' interests ahead of its own. The rest are all about the money.

I'll be interested in seeing what happens with Brightshare here and comparing it with the GPWA and CAP.

Amen to all that!

I used to be a regular poster at both GPWA and CAP until I realised exactly what was going on (as you've described), but then basically boycotted them for promoting those rogue programs.
I actually logged in to GPWA yesterday - and a message told me it was my first time since last September!

I honestly believe that AGD is the ONLY forum which TRULY has the affiliate's and player's best interest at heart.
