Hi All,

I have the ability and past experience in developing automated tools that can drive traffic and new users. in my previous company we've reached millions of users that way.
Usually the traffic came from websites/discussion groups where the target audience can be found.

I was wondering what are your thoughts on such tools if I want to use them for making some affiliate money and I was also wondering where can I find the target audience?

The idea is for example to find a discussion group/website where many of its users could convert, then develop a tool customized for that website, that will send private messages to the users.

Should I spend my time on this??

Sounds like unsolicited spamming to me... :(

I'll second that and add...sounds down right dodgy not to mention unethical. So essentially your a low life, scum sucking parasite who, clearly has no scruples, by gaining illegal access to a site(s), with the sole intention to spam its member base.

Is this the same ass-clown???
lucatombolini.net/minimal-glitch-3d-structures/ (infested with pingback and comment spam)...

I bet your mom and dad are real proud of you

EDIT: "in my previous company" and I thought they were still called a basement... :D

I don't think you will find a lot of people here that would support those methods... We have all had our businesses hurt by spamming and unethical methods - we are staunchly against this type of stuff here at AGD.

Bet4You - tone it down, please.

Ummm that was toned down. Far too good a treatment for a self proclaimed spammer/hacker... just sayin!

Hold on guys, I was honestly trying to get some feedback and not an attack. If I was an asshole spammer I would just spam and not ask for advice.
We all know that in this industry there are many ways that might be considered legitimate but they are not ethical and they are a huge pain for the people that are exposed to them.
To think about it - is it even ethical to aggressively advertise to people anything that can make them lose money?
Yes - I'm sure that many of you here make money from completely legitimate ways, but do you ever stop to think "how much money did people lose because of me?" So please let's pass the ethical questions here and try to be open minded before putting a tag on me saying I'm an asshole spammer.

With that said I do understand why you got the impression that this is what I am, so no hard feelings.

To the point:
I never send anything to anyone that is not very targeted. This is not an email-blast thing. Look at it this way, if I'm a person that is looking for a job as a software engineer, is it legitimate to find on linkedin 10 tech recruiters in my area, invite them to connect and ask them if they have anything available for me? Is it spam? Then what if I do the same with 500 people? Is that spam? Honestly I don't see it as, and I dont see it as unethical (unless I keep on harassing them).

Still, from your responses it looks like this might be a bad idea, even if very targeted (is it?), so I would really love to open a discussion on how I might still be able to use some of the techniques I have in a way that will still give me an advantage but not hurt anyone.
Just an idea I had in mind that might make sense (not sure if it's doable yet):
As you probably know google adwords now lets you upload an email list and advertise to these specific people.
The idea is to find websites where very targeted people are active, get a list of their names, find their email addresses, then run ads to them on adwords...
Obviously this may sound like a crazy, unrealistic idea, but if this can be done manually, then I can automate that to make it worth trying.

Just to stay clear - by "get a list of their names" I do NOT mean - hack the website and download their database! I only do stuff that anyone else could have done manually (but no one would do it because it's too much work).

Any other ideas would gladly be appreciated, seems like people here know this market WAY BETTER than I will ever know.

Cheers

I don't see the adwords as anything different from what Google does to be honest. I wouldn't have a problem with that.

Thanks for the clarification, btw, that helps us understand what you mean :) Leaving it open-ended led us all to jump to bad conclusions.

Thanks Guard Dog,
I should have been more clear (next time I won't start any discussion in 2am :) )

Anyway - I would assume that the adwords idea would convert much more than a general adwords campaign. Obviously if you're advertising to people that are already customers of similar websites, or that are actively talking about it - you have a better chance. Will it be worth it, that's what I'm not sure about... And I'm also not sure if there are so many platforms online in this market, where people list their real name. But that part I can research...

Have you heard of BlackHatWorld I think that is where you/it belong. This Forum AGD is for Casino Affiliates etc. Surprised Andy did not mention that.
