1. Work hard, work hard, work hard & work harder...! ;)
2. Try to make your website interesting and above all honest.
3. Be VERY careful which casinos you chose to promote - there are a lot of dodgy operators out there.
4. "Big Name" casinos are usually a bad option for affiliates.
5. Do not promote any casinos that have NCO.

Do all that, and maybe after 6 - 12 months you might start making some money.

Good luck!

Agree with KK's advice :)

It take 10,000 hours to be proficent in anything. So...at the bare min, expect to work at least 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, for 6 months straight. Learn the basics about mainstream SEO, then stop, and start learning/mastering gambling SEO. There is a huge difference between both of these. Learn how to do basic html coding. WordPress is great but, knowing how to add a banner manually, or to tweak CSS is even better yet. Ultimately learning php coding is uber.

Read, Read, Read Forums. Learn which programs are trustworthy, and which casinos are both good for players, and affiliates. Avoid promoting dodgy, clip joints.

Become known within affiliate forum. Introduce yourself to affiliate managers.

If it was easy, everyone would be doing it!

- Build a decent site and give visitors a reason to keep coming back to it.
- Find a reliable hosting service that allows gambling content.
- Join the main gambling forums and read read read. Take note of what the affiliates are saying about the listed affiliate programs, and be careful not to promote rogue, blacklisted or dodgy programs. There are plenty of them out there.
- Learn as much as you can about marketing and how to build traffic to your site.
- Work hard and be patient.

I can recommend you to work hard and work smart. Your website should definitely have something that others don't have. It's called USP (unique selling proposition). For example, you can my gamification on your website or something like that.

And be patient because It can take a years before you will start ranking. It's not really easy to boost your keywords.

Remember, hard work, pays off!

Remember that if you ever rank well for money terms, some jerk out there is going to start negative SEO'ing you. Start good habbits from the get go and keep your link profile clean of spammy links. They're a PITA to recover from sometimes if you let them accumulate :(

Being a girl is an advance I think. Decisions probably won't be influenced by hot chicks that are doing the conversations with affiliates at conferences.

In my idea, it starts all with an idea and the offers you want to make. An idea about what kind of website you want to make and at which markets you want to focus. The offers have to match this idea. It makes no sense to start a generic casino review or slot review for the UK or Sweden with a Flytonic-theme, without any specific knowledge, without any budget and with the wish to work office hours a week. In something, it must accelerate content, SEO, design, the concept or even more than just one of them. With a budget, I should hunt for a great concept. Or, first just trial and error and take that as a lesson.

Without a budget, it's triple the time that has to be invested I guess. Giving any advice is difficult as I do not know what skills somebody is having.

In my case, I didn't know anything when I started. I just knew the basics of gambling games (that's why I never gambled a lot :) ) and that a lot of people were fed up being sent to dodgy casinosites. I worked like 15 or 16 hours a day and that for months on. You have to be able to do that. Not everybody is able to work 15 or 16 hours a day and be patient for any earnings. I had a few bucks the first month, just enough for a coffee in the city.

Besides this, I think it's key to make good deals with good programs. Sounds easy, but it is not. A lot of good programs do not offer 70% rev. share or 100 CPA + 45% rev. share to starting affiliates, small affiliates or medium affiliates. But, taking a lower deal from them is worth it above taking 70% at some crappy brands. I see really a lot of people wasting their business with crappy brands. Many people start very enthusiastic and lose their motivation quite fast. That first of all because it takes some time to earn, but second of all, also depending a lot of the brands you are working with. It is simply impossible to earn with crappy brands that convert not even 0,5% of the traffic that is sent and that have a retention that is even crappier. Really try to look by yourself for brands that match your traffic and not depend just on who is promising great conversion and awesome retention.

Also try to not over-work yourself, keep yourself healthy and spend time in an effective + efficient way. Nobody is able to work 15/16 hours a day year by year.

Quoted from the movie BLOW....
Diego Delgado: Do you have a dream, George?
Do you know, in my country, I'm a "magico"?
A man with a dream. A man on the rise. To take nothing and make it something.

Many people start very enthusiastic and lose their motivation quite fast.

Unless your passionate about what your doing (regardless of what that is) you'll never see it thru. That's why people give up - throw in the towel.

They were motivated by the wrong reasons, and not by their passion. The cash and accolaides with come, but first the hard work, the long hours of work, making next to nothing, has to happen.

17 years ago you could throw up a handful of banners, write a few basic reviews, have all that on a crappy site, and make $20K a month without breaking a sweat.

However these days it's a hard gig. Back then you had to know HTML (you had to be a webmaster in the true sense of the word). These days you don't. WordPress etc., opened the flood-gates, allowing those who couldn't code, a way to have a kick-ass-site.

But on the flip, the motivation and passion still needs to be strong, otherwise, you'll fail.

Also try to not over-work yourself, keep yourself healthy and spend time in an effective + efficient way. Nobody is able to work 15/16 hours a day year by year.

I did tad under 47,000 hours of work in 10 years. But while the rewards came, I was left physcially and mentally drained. So much so I needed a good three (3) years holiday. Looking back, think I over did it a bit :D

This also gives a bit of an advantage if you do any Social Media marketing as well.. Just seems naturally easier to gain followers as a female :) IMO (Just an observation, I've never actually been one lol... fyi)

Everything else said, I 100% agree.

Funny, but I was actually refering to 47K in 10 years.
Which, if you crunch the numbers against someone working a 38 hour week, they'd have to work somewhere around 25 years, to achieve those hours. ;)

Furthermore if you compare the vacation time alotted to an employee (in Australia), for working 25 years, they'd receive:
  • 100 weeks of paid vacation time;
  • 2x three months of paid long service leave;
  • Weekends and public holidays.
So really 3 years holiday, isn't that much in the BIG picture. Though taking it ALL at once, maybe is :D

Also read the iGB mag, its a free mag, digital and print - and constantly look on igaming business for industry news (althought they seem to be a bit delayed with news lately) - you pick up a lot of info there.
