I have been in love with affiliate marketing since i first heard about it and i started doing it as a side business with hopes that it will become my main job. But ofcourse things aren't easy as they look and i have been struggling for more than 2 years. Any advices from someone that has been in this business longer than me?

@tmt - The industry isn't what it used to be. Even old timers like myself, who, literally have a couple of decades exp, are struggling to gain FTD's we would at one time obtain, without breaking a sweat.

The entire landscape has changed. And, as such, thinking this can be a part-time gig, will, IMHO, only bring frustration and disappointments. To even stand a chance of making it these days, your site needs to stand out from the crowd. Cookie Cutter WP sites are a dime a dozen. If you using what the next guy or last guy has, then your basically wasting your time.

To put all that into perspective...

100 new affiliates commence a site. They ALL work this gig full-time. 12 months later, that number has decreased to around 2, and at most 3, who are still hanging in there.

I've seen it month in, month out. Aspired newbies posting like crazy, then as the months tick by, their posts dwindle, as their enthusiasm sinks. They finally realise that being a gambling affiliate take a LOT of hard word, sacrifices (working not going out) for probably the 1'st 12 months, and there are no guarantees.

And, if you just happen to hit the magic-chord, and start obtaining traffic, you then have to hope, the affiliate programs you've partnered with, don't bend you over, and steal you players, and earnings.

There are so many pitfalls, obstacles, and brick walls these days, that the chances of making it, is akin to winning the lottery. Reiterating, 100 newbies (working at this full time), only 2 - 3% remain after one year. These rest have given up, because its simply just too damn hard, and is NOT the cash-cow it once was.

Substitute 'struggling' with 'learning' and you are going to have a much easier time. If you are truly 'in love' with affiliate marketing (and I mean truly and be honest with yourself) you should no problems developing your website/s as a side hobby.

Setting up a realistic goal is also important. A hundred ftds a month sounds quite optimistic.

If I was in your shoes I'd take a more aggressive approach and start experimenting, rather than feeling discouraged. I started in August 2009, and did not see my first 200$ payment until March 2012. Then to see it all go away in 2017 and start from scratch in 2018. At no point did I feel it's a "struggle". Sure you have your bad days,, maybe even weeks, but so does everyone.

Just accept that this may NEVER be anything more than a side hobby and you would feel much better and you would feel relieved. If your "love" for this dissipates, then you never truly loved it, but loved the idea of a passive income probably, from the comfort of your own home.

What FTDs? Betting? Casino? Forex?
Should they deposit $20 and run for the next bonus offer? Or should they spend serious money during a looong period of time?
I'm in affiliate business for 15/16 yrs or so and I love it too because it is one of the very rare opportunities where you can earn freedom.
IMOH - If you are looking for 100+ FTDs you can skip the idea of freedom. Than you need team. And employees are the opposite of freedom. I never had one, not even a business partner to which I would owe explanation or accountability or anything else.

And ofc, I never sent (not even close) 100 FTD a month to programs
BUT I have the freedom to do what ever I want, and honestly, during the last 8/10 yrs I never ever earned less than €10k monthly.

First, I would suggest to rethink your goals to define them more clear. If you really know what you want, the rest is just math and hustle.

My goal is not 100 FTD per month i just made the caption more clickable, and i knew that if i put something big many people will answer. Thanks to all for your answers and advices.

I know that affiliate marketing is not as easy as it was before 10 years. And many of you that started earlier are already positioned high on google, your domains are old etc..

I just have to be patient and wait for my time. Results will come after some time.

That's my point...
We learn this industry or anything we do, by making mistakes, but then learning from those errors.

A couple of weeks ago I received a DM from a random-noob over at GPWA. He was asking for help. I don't mind helping but what he was really asking for, was my unfettered years of experience. Knowledge which had taken me literally decades to learn. He seriously thought I'd freely give this to him.

You can't put an old-head on young shoulders.

It's all about perfecting one's craft - no one can do this without paying the piper ;)

I'm sorry if i get your website wrong?!

But it looks like that you are an affiliate, you send potential players to different operators and you claim, you pay a "cashback" if the player you have referred is losing money?

Means you motivate your traffic/players with the promise to share your earnings/commission?!

I think its impossible to find an experience affiliate who offers consulting. If they are really good they don’t need any side hustle.

Yes the skybet thing, followed by betfair and then bet365's list of requirements to promote them, consequently making me drop them.

Up to 25%??? o_O
25% should be the bare minimum starting point. I wouldn't touch anything less with a barge pole!
