Is setting up meetings for LAC necessary?

Hi,

I'd like to meet most of the affiliate programs that will be attending LAC next week, but rather than setting up appointments now and putting myself in a mandatory and unflexible schedule I'd like to just visit the booths and go with the flow.

Given that so many aff managers are sending mails to set up meetings, I was wondering whether the 'booth' approach is to be avoided or doable?

(Ideally I'd want at least 10-15 minutes talk with each program.)

Thanks and see you next week!

Last year at Amsterdam I only set up 2 or 3 casual meetings, and when the ASOP got canceled at the very last minute I was pretty much twiddling my thumbs for a day & a half. :(

Trouble is, if you don't make appointments you might not be able to talk to the affy people you want to because they are in meetings all the time!
This time I have set up LOADS of meetings in London - probably too many actually - but most are with people I want to talk to about specific issues.
And I'm pretty sure the ASOP will go ahead this time! 8)

I flew around like a mad women in Budapest doing power meetings and did it was complete madness so I will do the normal meetings which I have also booked myself very full of but I like order...lol There seems to be many coming to this event and I am sure I will leave thinking I wish I had more time to get more meetings in... You can always hang out at the hotel lobby main bar as well and meet casual I have done plenty of business that was as well.

Meeting are good as some of us did not get a chance to get a booth (They sold out fast!)

You can also bug some of us if you see us walking around......

Hope to see you all there.

I think with the size of the conference for LAC you shouldn't have any problems finding something to do. Just try to get all your stuff done at the booths and if you need to discuss things further I'm sure you might be able to set up some sort of meeting. I have seen some affiliates do overkill on the meetings and my recommendation is to balance it all. There won't be any issues of meeting the people you need to talk to, just be sure to attend the social events and make some friends.
