Ever wonder where the games that we love to play originated? With out spoiling too much, the French have invented more ways to gamble with more things than just money than just about anyone else... lol

But gambling has it roots in mythical studies, even religiously oriented sometimes, and in competition. It has started and ended wars, and it has brought great happiness and pain to a great number of people...

Gambling games have literally shaped the borders of countries...

I learned a lot writing this and I hope your do as well.

Here is my complete and fully researched History of Gambling and Casino Games Abbreviated on Google+.

"The subject of gambling is all encompassing. It combines man's natural play instinct with his desire to know about his fate and his future." ~Franz Rosenthal, Gambling in Islam, 1975

Ha! I have always wondered where the name 'Blackjack' came from, when '21' makes so much more sense!

Very interesting, especially as it seems that we have the French to thank for the spread of so many modern casino games...

When did slots come about do you know? obviously much later due to the mechanics, but when was the first 1 payline, pull the handle slot on the market I wonder? And when/whom decided it would be a good idea?

Perhaps your next article ;)
