Is there no ASOP this year?
I can't see any details about it anywhere.
(Not looked VERY hard).

Sorry mate - It isn't happening this year. Am gutted but just couldn't get a sponsor and it costs us almost 15k to hold with legal, equipment, dealers, prizes etc. plus needed a room to play the free rolls which comes via the sponsor :-( However it maybe worth having a word with Pokerstars as they own the poker room (or at least are the key partner) at the Hippodrome where we are holding the Sat party - Maybe they could organise a tourney for affiliates (not sponsored) as I would love to destroy you on teh table :) Do you want me to ask

Thanks Alex!

I wasn't actually planning to stay up in London Sat night as I'm virtually a "local" (2 hours away by train)... But now that's TWO tempting offers I've had for Saturday evening in two days!
Obviously I think you should ask anyway as I'm sure there are dozens of other affs & operators who would love such an event. But I will have to let you know later if I could make it or not...

Cheers,
Mark.

Is it me, or do 90% of the people who attend LAC go for the drink and not the business?

Every time I go to BAC or LAC I just see people hanging about drinking or getting absolutely wrecked (in particular the Scandinavian guys - you know who you are :) ) like their wives only let them off the leash 2 days per year.

For me it's straight business, I can get wrecked 363 other days of the year.

Seems these conferences are not much more than brown-nosing-events, where more than a few affiliate programs, party it up on shaved funds. I suppose when drinks are free and your having smoke blown up your backside, who's going to question anything... just sayin

Fortunately I have no need to attend them. Programs visit me instead :D
