Completely new to this but have knowledge in Marketing and SEO.

I know Facebook isn't really an option in regards to marketing a casino site but have any of you had any luck with google adwords/display network?

I'd assume competition would be crazy high.

I think you need very very deep pockets to go down that route. Even for small volume terms

You've missed that boat by about 15 years... Least in a point where it didn't cost you an arm, leg, and your 1'st born child.

Thanks for the replies guys, yeah I thought this would be the case.

Is there any material you would recommend for me to get more up to speed. It looks like the only way to go might be a lot of SEO work.

Mate, to find against the big corporate affiliates you need a strong content writers and contents and don't forget the backlinks, which even if google says are not so relevant they are still a key to success. And after all you need patience, you can't build a successful site for 3 months. in order to establish and start bringing some traffics needs time and constant input and money.

Good luck!

Thanks mate, I work for a digital marketing agency so we've got some good content writers, link builders and web designers. Just a matter of getting everything rolling.

Good luck, Matt. But remember it always takes time to see the results, do not give up too early :)

Could you elaborate a bit on what your objectives are with advertising? Facebook and Google are both options, you just need to be approved as RMG (real money games) advertiser.

You've missed that boat by about 15 years... Least in a point where it didn't cost you an arm, leg, and your 1'st born child.

I'm assuming you mean CPA costs? As the overall costs for reach with advertising has decreased.

Excluding Google PPC, you would be talking about display advertising and I just wrote an article that you might find useful: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/clicks-relevant-your-gambling-advertising-success-joonas-karhu/ and more generally about marketing here from a few months back: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/two-marketing-laws-guide-your-gambling-2020-beyond-joonas-karhu/

No... It's one of those real-life-journey's. If you didn't live it, you wont know it. Something a university degree doesn't teach you!

Meaning, unless you were around in the early igaming days.

Back then (circa 1997, as a player), I was 36 and you were only 7 years old... At 39 I became an affiliate...nuff said ;)

With regards to your articles... While they maybe relevant to large operators, and corporations, the majority of all members at AGD are not the aforementioned.

The OP certainly wouldn't garnish much useful insight.

But kudos for managing to slip two (2) of your linkedin articles into this thread.

Could you elaborate, please? If it's not CPA that you were referring to, what's the boat that was missed by 15 years?

I understood it as the times when display advertising was still affordable for 1 man shows and small operations. With strict ad regulations, huge CPCs and massive competition, the barrier is incredibly high these days.

You're basically competing with every bookmaker and casino; it's impossible to outvalue a 100% revshare :)
