Havent been paid yet, been speaking to the affiliate manager and he said that they have ceased trading and made everyone redundant, he said hes doing everything he can to ensure suppliers are paid...
Players have been instructed to open skrill accounts to withdraw their winnings..as for affiliates its not looking good atm..Im suprised i havent seen many complaints on other forums.

Thanks for the update. I've become resigned to not seeing the money. What I can't fathom is why no-one has responded to my emails, perhaps the redundancy explains it. Still doesn't answer why I didn't get my payments for October onwards, they were still trading and taking players then. I thought the guys running Metroplay were honest chaps, certainly the ones I met and drank with were nice. Still I know better for next time and won't be doing business with any of them again regardless of what programs the may end up at.

I was asked by their x-affiliate manager to email mariec@arionservices.co.uk which i have and received a reply saying that they dont have any information for me yet but i should forward them an invoice. I forwarded an invoice and a screenshot of the affiliate backend with the ammount owed alongside with my affiliate id.

There lays the problem.
It's an industry where the booze flows and the lines between business and socialising get blured.

First and foremost affiliates run a business.

Most other industries if people didn't get paid after 2 months or less, they kick places like this to the curb. However, what I find is a lot of people get caught up (myself have been there too), with the idea than when I'm called "mate" or any number of endearing friendship titles, it means something - like I'm going to be looked after.

Unfortunately in the industry (or doing business per se), more often than not, it's weightless. A verbal sucker punch!

These days, if and when I'm not paid and it's going into the 2'nd month, I try to make contact and if that falls on deaf ears, I pull banners and links.

I make business decisions these days based on business agreements and not false or empty mateship.

Very true, i actually find it insulting when they act like your best mate to get you to work with them or to keep working with them, also at conferences i dont travel all the way to be greeted by models and get drunk but to do business deals.
With that being said though their old affiliate manager has been very helpful with me in this situation and he was let go from the company a while back, hes just an employee, he doesnt have to keep me updated every few days but he does which i appreciate.

Its the bosses in the background that are dodgy and unfortunately if you are in this business long enough you will experience similiar situations sooner or later.
