Received an email just now from: support@miraxcasino.com

I've never signed up to this casino... yet they send me a mailer (subject- please confirm your email address) requesting I verify my email addy. Included in this was the follow: "If you didn't create an account, no further action is required."

This place has acquired my email addy by nefarious means.

Clearly a common action for this joint. Otherwise, they wouldn't add the above DUMB statement.

I loath casinos who acquire email data by dodgy means, which is exactly what MiraxCasino.com has done.

Mirax Casino opened 2022 as a brand/new casino owned by Hollzcorn N.V. It holds a Curacao license.

The ACMA is on their trail too:

The fact that ACMA is after them is not related though, they after all Aus focused casinos that cross some visibility threshold.

My point to including the ACMA was, there are other AU facing casinos who are not being hounded by this AU Gov., Dept., Why? My guess they're paying winners.

The ACMA mostly acts on complaints, submitted to it by its AU citzens ;)

I completely understand how frustrating it can be to receive unsolicited emails from casinos or any other business for that matter. It's a clear invasion of privacy and can be very irritating. I've never heard of Mirax Casino before, but it sounds like they may have obtained your email address through questionable means. It's definitely not a good look for them to include a statement like "If you didn't create an account, no further action is required." It only confirms suspicions that they may have acquired your email address without your consent.

Personally I update the spam filters in my inbox once a week. Sometimes it seems tedious. I don't advocate for the casino. But there is one point. Whoever knows your email may have registered. Is that a large number of individuals?

I think this is the case everywhere, in every area of the law. A citizen's complaint is the basis for launching an investigation. Otherwise, how will they know that something is wrong?
