Reportedly, Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) ordered local internet service providers to ban their customers from accessing the online casino at ThePokies.net, after receiving customer complaints about the unlicensed site.

after receiving customer complaints about the unlicensed site.

Redirects now to: thepokies11.net

The ACMA could throw a blanket ban. However it seems, they're only taking action against casinos who are NOT paying AU players. By the looks of "ThePokies" site, it's cheap and nasty, specifically targeting Aussie gamblers.

In their T&C's they're using FU clauses.

b) You are from those countries and geographic regions where online gambling is allowed by law. You are solely responsible for determining whether your access to the website is compliant with applicable gambling laws in your region of residence.

FAQ:

Can I use a VPN to get around region blocked games?
Yes you can! Unlike our competitors we feel it is your right as a player to have access to the latest games and providers and if they have blocked your regions access, we see there being no harm done by using a VPN to bypass these blocks. This is what makes us different to most casinos out there.

Breaches and Termination
1. If you have breached any of our terms and conditions or if we have evidence that we suspect you have breached them, we reserve the right at our discretion to suspend your account and withhold funds.

Clearly using a VPN and or opening a real account, and depositing funds to gamble from Australia is an automatic breach of ThePokies T&C's etc., etc.

Reiterating... SCAM site, targeting Aussie Players.

It's hard to understand how punters decide to sign-up at casino without demo games and with such ugly design. Nevertheless I support ACMA decision.
