Hey guys, just wanted to take a quick poll to see how everyone is doing for the month of nov and dec.

My stats have been way down for nov and dec is not starting out so well.

Traffic down about 20% sign-ups down a little, and deposits down a lot..

My rankings seem to be about the same for everything, and I don't remember last year being this slow.

So.. how about every one else? The past month or two, have you slowed down, done better, or about the same?

My website traffic hasn't decreased. The number of visitors that I'm sending the casinos haven't decreased. But the number of sign ups has significantly decreased these last couple of months.

I'm seeing the same thing. Lately it has been a lot more difficult to get new depositors, and retention is piss-poor at a lot of places, too. Players sign up, deposit once, and then they are never seen again. The casinos really need to do more to keep these players interested -- they shouldn't just let them walk off like they have been. Don't be lazy -- get them back, dammit, and keep them happy!

We need to find a place here at AGD to talk about retention.. maybe someone can create a good thread about it? Affiliates can discuss which is converting AND retaining players. That is important as we all build our businesses.

That would be helpful.. I never know if its just my traffic or the programs as things seem to change quite a bit every few months. That would definitely provide a little extra guidance.

I think one needs to concentrate on who is cross promoting your players and/or shaving (your) earnings from big players as mostly these are 20% which accounts for 80% of your total income.

I chatted with a guy last year and he talked to an affiliate manager that got the sack and he knew a lot of accounts had been untagged in favor of the casino owners.

Our traffic is way down as well. Normally this time of the year is our best in terms of signing up new players so far it's been awfully quite.

This is a real concern and I think programs are shaving more then ever before. The problem is they've reached a stage where they simply don't care. When we sign up with new programs we have a lot of sign ups/depositing players the first couple of months and then they simply disappear.

I've asked this before how do we as affiliates safeguard ourselves against programs stealing from us? From a legal perspective we don't have a leg to stand on. I guess this is why they screw us over. The stats in my humble opinion is a "hoax" since programs can tamper with it as they please.

When we sign up with a new program we expect the following information from them. Some programs do provide the below info. However, those who don't and if we request it and they refuse we simply won't work with them.

1. Player's username
2. The amount they deposited
3. Where they're from
4. If they self-excluded or if the account is locked we want to know why

I'd appreciate your feedback with regards to the above. If you have additional points to ad please do so. At the end of the day transparency is key.

yes, I mentioned it last month in the Mainstreet post when I noticed a decline.
Mine coincides with the Google panda update on 5 nov. so its definately traffic related.

I had this as well it was with a very well known MG brand, actually it was the fact that they had 2 sets of stats one for the affiliates to see and the real one where it shows actual earnings after they shave the affs...

If I may ask which MG was this?

If this is the case then all programs are shaving and affiliates can stop promoting online casinos. At the end of the day it's not worth it then cause we're been fed the crumbs from our actual earnings.

I definitely think with the downturn in the economy is making more and more programs turn to the darkside.. Lets face it they all have targets to hit and shareholders to please.. So if things arent looking rosey, whats the easy option ? kick the affiliates.

When I see affiliate programs changing their terms and conditions retroactively, regular players mysteriously disappearing, predatory new terms being added, strange statistical reports, etc, I become more determined not to send most of my traffic to a handful of affiliate programs, or to top list one or two affiliate programs across my network.... That would definitely be like putting all your eggs in one basket and hoping for the best.
