It's time to get back to business!!!

I sincerely hope everyone who attended got some great information / deals. I haven't heard much, yet, from anyone who attended - so if you attended the London Affiliate Conference this year.. let us know if you got anything out of it and why it benefited you. If you felt it was wasted money, let us know that as well.

This can be important to new affiliates who don't have the money to attend yet.. they need to know if they should try to gather funds to attend or if they are better served working on their websites while everyone else attends.

As always - I got a lot out of it.

The biggest benefit is meeting the people you work with (or are considering working with) face to face. I always learn something new and come away with new offers and ideas for my websites.
I strongly recommend that any newbie or aspiring affiliates attend one of these conferences - IMHO they are invaluable.

The only downside is that newbies might see the big flashy stands of the likes of Euro Partners, 888, Aff Utd, etc... and think these guys must be OK to work with, when of course, they are not. That is where Affiliate Guard Dog is equally valuable for affiliates.

It's worth it, mainly so you can put a face to the names you work with and meet other affiliates - I think for many of us it's the one time you're likely to be surrounded by people who actually know what you're going on about.

I've also found that talking through your plans with other people often helps a lot in coming up with new ideas and ways of doing things. Plus as KK mentioned you can also come back with some offers and deals for both you and the players.

But if I was a noob I don't know if I would spend a ton of money going to a conference if that money could be better used elsewhere though.

Well that sounds like an awesome trip for you, congrats! Im sorry about the concussion though, I bet there is a cool story behind it, even if you don't remember(just make one up!)

It was a great conference for us as well, I really enjoyed meeting people and like KK mentioned earlier, meeting people you work with face to face makes it so much better. Gave out a lot of Costa Rican Coffee as well! Looking forward to next year.

I would love to make it to one of these things maybe later on down the track when the kids are a bit older as it's not a short flight for us.

The red part is interesting, surely these companies know what there stigma is like but still have the balls to show up at these things? don't care as money talks I guess.
Does anyone here talk to them and raise their concerns face to face? are they purely there just to catch new affiliates off guard?

starting to look like you are artificially increasing your post count :(

It's looking like that, he is posting everywhere and most of it is irrelevant.

I don't see any point in trying to talk these people into changing their ways - they aren't going to take any notice of one or two affiliates' comments.

I believe part of it is also a culture thing; in certain parts of the world, being "pushy" and putting profit ahead of ALL other concerns and not caring what anyone else thinks or says is the norm. It's obvious to me that customer satisfaction and honesty is way down the list of priorities for some operators.

Sounds like you did what most affiliates do on a first time conference...haha Sorry the concussion is not funny hope everything is well now for you. I went hard the 1st night I was in town so the rest of my trip was not painful.

This conference was so big there were many I did not get to see this time around :( I did bring a nasty cold & flu back from the trip so things are slow for me as in catching up on deals I made etc. It was a very profitable conference for Streak Gaming!!
