Online Casinos That Review Casino Portals

I recently discovered another RTG casino that publishes reviews of affiliate portals on their main site without linking back to them. Why would they do this? I doubt it's because they appreciate the service these portals provide but rather to benefit from the portals brand name keywords.

Anybody else experience this?

That is a new one. I've never seen that before. Casino sites are usually pretty thin content wise so they often try to publish something on them, usually poorly written articles on any casino related topic. As you say its for purposes of associating with keywords in the search engines. Maybe they could also be trying to reinforce a good review by telling their visitors how wonderful the reviewing site is, and the reverse of course, attempting to undermine trust in a site that gives them a bad review.

It seems a questionable idea to me, given there's a chance that someone is going to read about these wonderful portals (assuming the reviews are positive) that has hundreds of casinos on it and go looking for it instead of playing at their site. It's a similar situation to casinos that recommend affiliate sites as mediators in disputes in lieu of an actual independent mediator, such a dumb idea and a turn off as an affiliate that they are actively pointing players to other sites from which they are unlikely to return.

I've never seen this. Perhaps their idea is to not lose customers. It could be that they think that in case of linking to those websites, they send traffic to that websites. Traffic that will click and play at other casinos.

Maybe it's also a SEO-thing. In a certain way casinos and affiliates are competitors too on keywords.

I won't mention the names of the casinos doing this as their actions have just reaffirmed my belief that there is no loyalty in this business and I don't wish to stoop to their level.

No loyalty in this business? Strangely I find this business to be more morally correct then 95% of all others in the world. Some truly honest and caring people work in the online gambling industry. Sure, wherever there is money, there will be shady people, but for the most part, working with many other businesses in the past, this industry has always impressed me.

The affiliate managers may show you some loyalty and smiley faces but when business decisions have to be made at the expense of the affiliate you'll soon realise that there is no loyalty.

I am sure that the affiliate managers dont really have a say when it comes down to business decisions. At the end of the day they have to do their job and if a business decision is made they have to act accordingly. Unfortunately this is how it works.

While this is true there are still managers who have a moral compass and will leave before the change is made.

This bs happens everywhere anyways. I was little when my father who worked 30 years for a career in a factory and got to vice ceo went to negotiate a sale in Austria.

The guy who bought the factory promised a big growth but instead fired 90% of the people closed 11 departments of production and left one.

This was in the late 80s.

Probably has been happening way before our time.

It's not even related to the business you are in.

Disney bought Marvel, then shut down a pretty successful game Marvel Heroes, leaving the company responsible for it on the unemployment line. Dont see anyone hating on Disney or stopping their children to watch their channel.

Point is nothing new.

It is not a SEO-thing until there is a "follow" link. I think that casinos that do the thing like this wants to take advantage of a good option of customers about affiliate site. That is illegal using of trade mark in here probably.

Strange indeed.. I take the no loyalty side on this one. I have experienced some awesome affiliate managers, really great people. But I have no doubt that when it comes down to it. No one will have anyone's back but himself.
