Question regarding websites.

If you do not have the skills to build websites from scratch on your own, what solutions are out the for us affiliates? finished Templates etc..

I got professional help with the site I am working on now, but of course it costs a lot of money, and I was hoping to build some sites on my own that are quite easy to navigate threw and that are easy for a beginner to use.

Thoughts?

That is a good question.


As a coder, (I wrote my first sites all by myself) I still find that I have to hire out for specific types of coding that I don't know very well and for things I don't have time for.

So you can build it 'yourself', but you will still find yourself needing specialty coding and design as you grow.

On the other hand the 'plug-in' sites like wordpress, offer a lot of flexibility, but no uniqueness and you become a target of every punk hacker in the world.

I personally think that to be successful you need to do both your own coding and be able to hire people that will supplement your coding and design skills.

My husband is an affiliate and when he started he used mainly templates which could be found on the web (worpress templates are by the hundreds), or even easy making pre build websites like moonfruit. Obviously as his needs for adding content and new features grew, so did his need to learn further and hire other capable people to help.
I found you dont have to know how to do everything, you just need to find the right people to help you in certain parts, such as the coding part for example.
I'm a skilled writer and I love content, but I couldn’t code to save my life. I am sure there are a lot of coders who hate writing, so its just a matter of finding someone who shares common goals.
However if you want to do it yourself, you have to think you will probably spend money and there will be many nights you will end banging your head against the keyboard hihihi But many affs I know do it successfully, I just dont share their superhuman genes hence my advice
