I noticed a very large "Negative Deposit" in the reports on an RTG I promote.
They use the standard RTG reporting system which most of their casinos use these days.

But how can a deposit be negative??

This is not a withdrawal and the "chargeback" column is totally clear.
Anyone seen this before and/or knows what is going on here?

Cheers, and Season Greetings!

I've seen just the opposite where the deposits were one figure but net rev was much, much higher.
I ask about it and was told not worry, it was correct. I never received a better explanation but this is my guess, the player won a real series jackpot and I assume RTG pays it so it ends up in the players account and they drop it back.

Maybe your's is similar but they're deducting it by making it a negative deposit?

Not in this particular case.
The amount is pretty huge, and would mean the casino refunding at least 10 deposits per month for 3 months.
Why would they do that?

Strange. I also thought about refund. Maybe you had 1 big player that was depositing substantial amounts during the past months and that's the refund?

10 negative "deposits" a month sure sounds more like a withdrawal. Are you positive it's not that? Are there separate withdrawal being recorded elsewhere?

Yes, it's definitely NOT a withdrawal or Charge-back: there are separate columns for those.
This is a huge negative in the"Deposits" column.

If it is a refund, it's a very strange one: Why would they let someone deposit large amounts every week over 3 months an then suddenly refund it all?
This would cost the casino a very significant sum (5-figures); apart from anything else, they have paid me loads of commission for the last 3 months.
I hope they don't ask for it back

The scenario of $X deposit and $xxxx net gaming is easier to explain - for example you had a player that little by little gained big balance over few months before loosing it all in one day. Another option is that a player won huge amounts on free chip and when he asked to withdraw the amount was corrected to maximum cashout limit.

On the other hand, negative deposits have to be related strictly to fund transactions and not rev-share or jackpots. Regular jackpot won - you have negative netgaming, no effect on deposits. Funds for progressive jackpots are collected from players and operators (and sometime affiliates) with every spin and therefore if someone wins $1.6 on Aztec Mil (not sure if it ever happened) you won't get - $1.6M in netgaming and it also has no effect on deposits.

My only guess is one big refund - the only reason to do that is they are 100% sure that the player going to chargeback all his deposits and they issued a refund in order to avoid it.

Very interested to see how they will explain that...

true, could be that a player accumulated a bunch of deposits. It is a nice surprise since I'm on 40%. This just happened a couple months ago and one other time that I remember. That one was even bigger. Wish I had a few more programs like it.
