I'm trying to design the details page for slots... I'm having a rough go of what I think is MOST important for me as an advertiser and for players to stay on the page.

How would you order this stuff?

  • Banner
  • Screenshots
  • Slot Video
  • Slot Details (reels, paylines, features, etc)
  • Review text

Keep in mind that once images are at the top... it knocks everything else down. Same with Review text. Put that at the top and it knocks all the images down below.

Thanks for the help!!!! I'm struggling

Hi ya boss!

Since the title usually speaks loudly...

- screenshot - features (details) - banner (CTA) - review text - Video

The logic here is simple: people like to be visually stimulated, now they know what they are going to see. Then they see nothing but truth, no opinion! (in the details and features). Then they get the call to action, they have seen it, they know the truth, maybe they will spend the money now. If not they do not and stay on the page, they must be more curious, now is the time they read your opinions (reviews) and develop more of their own. Finally, they are presented with the mindless video, literally showing them with no thought process what it is. That is for the lazy bottom scroller. You like muffin's logic? :D

I agree with muffin, on having the images (screenshots at the top of the page.) slot players are visual so that's important. I think a small description about the game under the screenshot, then a text link, and a casino you recommend trying with the bonus offer, then a banner underneath. I hope that helps. :)

I have always been told that for the benefit of SEO that the writing should come first as google like content 'above the fold' followed by visuals.

Is this incorrect?

You are correct Kolo,

but please consider that the type of images we (assumption) are referring too should be not linked, and for informational purposes in all definitions of that term. That would fit into the category of quality content above the fold as they are original and would depict the slots in question. Now if they were advertising images, or even images that are linked off-site, that would be more dangerous territory.

Yes, to quality content above the fold. No to outbound advertising links above the fold within reason. (I do one max)

That's a well thought out process right there!

As for above the fold advertising.. I usually put a small paragraph before the link / linked image.. That seems to help, but like muffin's said, keep the above the fold advertising to a minimum to help with ranking.

this is correct i have 4 top banners before text in my main page and i bet i suffer for it, despite briging hundreds of players SEO wise i feel its not sharp tunned but those banners are also my bread and butter for my deposits im sure.
