It is most certainly THAT TIME OF YEAR. We have a decision to make:

Are we going to do some Spring Cleaning... or take a Spring Break?

As many of us take time to get our houses in order, maybe it's time to do the same for our Affiliate Websites?

The Spring Cleaning Project - Affiliate Edition

Taking care of site cleanup is a necessity for many affiliates, especially those (like me) with multiple websites. Keeping the trash (bad affiliate programs / poor converting casinos) off the website is a duty that we MUST perform. However, that is not the ONLY duty we have to our websites and (eventually) to our wallet.

Spring cleaning, here we come!!

Spring Cleaning Initiative

 • Remove Casinos with poor customer service and those who treat players improperly (rogue casinos). Check Casinomeister.com for a good idea of which casinos are having player issues.
 • Remove Casinos with poor conversions - If the casino is not converting players, then there is no reason to have them on your website (even if you get 80% revshare! $0 deposits * 80% = $0!!!)
 • SEO Cleanup - This is always a last for me... But cleaning up each page and properly adjusting it to your keywords WILL have an affect on your conversions.
 • Internal Link Cleanup - Many of us have links to pages that no longer exist or to pages we never created (with all our good intentions). Get those internal links removed! Search engines don't like links to pages that don't exist... and neither do your customers.
 • External Link Cleanup - Those damn reciprocal links... those damn three-way links. Keep on top of them (at least every once in awhile)... and take this spring cleaning initiative to get your links in order. Your Google Pagerank will thank you for it.
 • Revamp old content - YES, those old pages that used to rank sooooo well... remember them? They can do so again! Re-write some of those pages! Make the search engines interested in them again and you might just be rewarded with more players.
 • Update old sites - Old sites... aged sites... are very powerful. If you have a site that you haven't maintained - clean it up. Get it back in order and let it's age help you gain players.

Add to this list!!! Affiliates should know everything about their current sites and how to make the most of them. Spring cleaning is all about renewal. Make the most of it.

Please feel free to take the poll on what you will be doing this spring with yourself!!!!

Spring cleaning.... OR .... Spring Break??

Excellent suggestions Andy!

I would suggest looking into incorporating new things like video and social networking features. Possibly consider CSS to make the site more interactive.

I just cleaned up my legacy site and plan on cleaning up a site I did in 2006 that is crap and in serious need of attention.

Then I will spend the rest of my Spring cleaning our home and then Spring Break will consist of a road trip in an RV from Colorado to Ohio with the hubby and two furkids. :emoticon-0155-flowe

Spring cleaning, for sure. We've just revamped an old bingo site that used to do quite well and it's starting to do OK-ish again; we've brought back a 7 year old domain (possibly in my sig) that was just left to rot and are totally overhauling that...yup, it's time to get things really motoring again.

I am probably a grumpy pants here, but I hate spring break - as if partying got me anywhere! I'm more of the, sit out on the deck, bbqs, movies, quiet days and nights!

Spring Cleaning here I come!! Time to take our the trash, and fix up the websites!
