The Star Entertainment Group (Star) has been served with a misconduct notice by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) in relation to investigations into financial and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance.
The investigations, which were reported in 2019, followed a review by the regulator into the operation of Star's AML and customer identification programs. The company is being asked to make available documents and other information relating to the investigations.
