The investigation began in March 2019, after being contacted by the family of a man who, unfortunately took his own life.

Investigation revealed failings in the way PTES managed its social responsibility and anti-money laundering processes. Failings were also found in the way PTES interacted with its highest-spending customers. PTES surrendered its licence during the process of investigation, if not the Commission would have imposed a financial penalty of a £3.5 million and consider other appropriate sanctions.

Dodgy behavior to try to duck a 3,5M fine with a 0,6M "donation".

I guess this harms the reputation of the whole sector and perhaps rules will be even stricter.

But what else was to expect from a dodgy brand like Winner?

So basically...

This matter would have gone unnoticed, if it wasn't for the family of this young-man, submitting a complaint to the UKGC.

That's two (2) suicides we know of... The other being a 21 year old Aussie, who was playing at Emu Casino. Who btw, was permitted to signup and gamble (real money) well after the AU 2017 ban.

With regards to the UKGC... Is it just me, or is there something inherently wrong (broken) with their entire process.

Agree, it seems like the focus isn't properly directed towards actually protecting customers...in any case, this market is a sad memory of what it used to be. After all these years, it seems they never built a system to work well for everyone involved.
