Weekly Deposit Limit Proposed in Sweden

Mandatory weekly deposit of SEK5,000 and a SEK100 cap on bonus offers from 1 June is proposed by Sweden's Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Ardalan Shekarabi, due to the pandemic. The Minister also said mandatory limits on playing time will be introduced.

Gustaf Hoffstedt, secretary general of Sweden's online gambling trade association Branschföreningen för Onlinespel said:
“I am very concerned over the fact that this will accelerate the leakage from the Swedish licensing system to unlicensed sites. We already have a problematic level of approximately 25% leakage when it comes to online casino, and with these governmental measures it will only get worse.”

That guy is a clown. There's already Spelpaus which is extremely effective, so why go even further when we have literally the best responsible gambling tools in the world! Jeez. The Swedish gambling market is already extremely decimated from the over regulation. Im stuck at home too and enjoy the escape that gambling offers me. Who are they to take that away from me. Makes my blood boil.

Time to start promoting non regulated and off shore brands soon. Just about had it with their bs

Seems that Sweden will be another overregulated market. Just like the UK.

Members of Branschföreningen för Onlinespel (BOS) signed an open letter expressing concerns about the new temporary online casino restrictions, to Sweden’s Social Security Minister, Ardalan Shekarabi.

BOS also warned that companies could leave the market if they keep being subjected to stricter regulations.
