I've used a few before, not anymore though. I believe most themes add support for the official amp plugin which is the one made by "AMP Project Contributors".

Few issues I ran into were, broken links, missing images, weird fonts, misaligned text, broken scripts and so on. Because AMP wants to deliver the very basic code of what the pages are about, if you have advanced stuff like tables with sorting or anything of that sort, it might not work.

But yah, if none of this applies to you, I'll just go with the official one.

I removed it three years ago. It's only good for the news sites.

It's another G disaster, in a long line of them. As long as you site is mobile compatible, isn't bogged down with bloated coding/plugins, and adheres to clean code etc., etc., then you'll be fine.

My theme recommends me to install a plugin called - AMP yeah, it's his title with 500,000+ installations. But I didn't and I'm sure that with tech optimization and a clean theme, I don't need to install it at all. Of course, it's your decision.

I no longer use AMP on my sites cause it has more disadvantages than benefits.
