Why so many terrible affiliate managers?

Based on recommendations I have made accounts with Affiliate Edge, Raging Bull and Casumo to start.

Affiliate Edge and Raging Bull guy had no clue what postback tracking pixels were, or if they could be placed, this is after me begging them to just reply to my messages because they just wouldn't do it.

Casumo guy was the weirdest, i have been in the affiliate industry for 6 years and have worked with over 40 networks and he asked me the weirdest questions in order to approve my account such as "Can you tell me more about markets, player value, number of NDC’s we could expect?"

What? Seriously, I'd consider myself a seasoned affiliate but have zero clue what any of that means.


I have been driving traffic through affiliate networks on a CPL model and I honestly thing I could do much more on Revshare or CPA, because they have been really enjoying the traffic i'm sending, but I can't find a single decent affiliate manager. All I need is someone to answer general questions and give me some information such as good offers, good landing pages, good countries... and etc... and that REPLIES to messages.
Can anyone recommend a good affiliate manager from a reputable company that knows how to work with media buyers?

I'm sorry if this seems a tad aggressive, it's just I feel like they do not care and its quite frustrating to have to beg to make these companies money.

Hi Fabio, I'll get Stephen to get back to you on this. I've chatted with him briefly and my understanding is that you wanted something specific for the tracking pixel that isn't currently available. You are able to use tracking pixels with AffiliateEdge on banners and text links and as explained we we're looking to add this to landing pages also.

Going over what he mentioned to you, he looks to have provided you with the correct information. He'll be in touch soon.

Yeah but the thing is, why ask that? It's virtually impossible to answer. Every geo, landing page, offer and etc...will generate a different yield and even then its hard to say how many people will end up depositing and even less how much. I have been asked how much volume I can drive which makes sense because I can control that. The other variables I can't

It would be weird to ask those kind of questions to approve your account, but they sound more like questions that are being asked to help the aff manager to understand your business, your traffic and the way you work. This helps us work with you better to achieve better results.

You should have a rough idea about your average player value, however this is something that can fluctuate wildly depending on the business you're dealing with. If the retention isn't there or the CS staff are ill-informed or even if the players have a bad experience navigation the casino, this all has an impact on the player value. Either way, you can compare your value with their value and see roughly where you might stand.

Stephen is a good manager and will be able to help you get the information that you need. On one part of your questions he has been awaiting information from another department, but I do believe he's already been in touch with you over Skype.

I see nothing wrong with those questions, maybe player value but if one promotes a bunch of nd freebies or free games one might expect low player value. A high roller page/article might yield higher value players.

If most of ones traffic is from a certain geo-location one should be able to ball park expectations based on the amount of traffic.

Imo it's simply a matter of analyzing the numbers. I think that is why those questions were asked.

Agreed, when one has an established site. However the OP is a noob to casino industry. Hence he has no data. So these generic questions are pointless.

Yeah i'm pretty new to the casino industry, thing is i'm already generating 5 digits a month steady with only 2 offers i'm running and I told him that. I don't see how it is beneficial to confuse me instead of just allowing me to test his offers first. I mean what happened was, I felt like I had no clue how to respond him and simply didn't. That's one casino that I am not working with simply because the guy was trying to test me.

Well i have been doing affiliate marketing for over 6 years but I just happened to find a really good source and really good offers, only problem is I'm only running Canada and UK at the moment, the offers won't take other countries because they're per lead. Which is why i wanted to really get more casinos under my belt so I could advertise throughout the world

Hi KK,
Basically, this is a media tool because in the cases that the post back pixel tracking is used casinos are paying for sign ups and deposits and a serious media agency will want to receive a confirmation for every relevant registration (Reg) and every first time depositing player (FTD) they send to a casino. So, they get this done by either (1) the casino agreeing to place a script (of the media agency) on their registration and deposit pages that then (fire the pixel) send all relevant Reg and FTD data to the media agency each time one of their referrals registers or makes their first deposit; or more common today (2) the casino places a special script of their own (from their affiliate program software) on the registration and deposit pages that sends the relevant Reg and FTD data to the affiliate programs server which immediately sends (post back) the relevant data to a URL provided by the media agency (Postback URL). This way a casino doesn't need to place third party tracking script on their website but still provides the media agency with a good enough solution (immediate confirmation of relevant actions of their referred players). This second option is also called server to server (S2S) pixel tracking.
