From what I’ve observed, the 2024 December Core Update seems to be rolling out slower than usual, or at least the impact isn’t hitting as hard right out of the gate. For our affiliate sites, we’ve seen minor fluctuations, but nothing dramatic yet. It’s mostly holding steady for now, which makes me wonder if this update might be more niche-specific or still in its early stages.
That said, it’s always good to stay on top of things. I’ve been monitoring rank trackers and affiliate site performance daily. Anyone seeing changes in gaming/finance niches?

Don't know about December, but in the beginning of January 2025 Google Started to react differently on the same quality on content for sure.

There has been a lot of chatter on X that Google is testing their next core update and it will be released soon. But that is just speculation.

I wonder if Google is targeting gambling content now after they announced they're restricting gambling content on Youtube. I see some bigger drops than normal across many sites, but then again, Google has become s***.

Have you seen any movement on your sites? I haven't seen any increases or decreases yet.
some slight positive gains on 1 site, but nothing on another, but it's still early doors. i had a nice boost with the last update but then it slowly dropped back after a few weeks

I read that in April new changes are coming to the gambling category on Google. Paid ads will get even more space in the SERP and a lot of other changes. I honestly believe us regular affs are smoked on Google. I see so many bigger sites drop massively recently. Maybe the smaller ones haven't been picked up by Google yet. I'm guessing Google aims to give regulated approved casinos more space and all the crypto cowboys will be pushed out. I think affiliates need to rely even less on Google and youtube now.
