Brazil’s Justice and Citizenship Commission has approved PL 2,234/2022, a bill to legalize casinos, bingo, jogo de bicho, and horserace betting, moving it to the Senate plenary for further voting. Senator Irajá highlighted the potential economic benefits, including job creation and increased tax revenues, which could be directed toward essential sectors such as health, education, and infrastructure.
