Hi danniee, I just looked at the website. You're right, it's not there.

But look here: www . icontrolwp.com / our-wordpress-plugins

or search directly in your wp-admin under plugins for "Custom Content by Country". You will see the following:

"Custom Content by Country (by One Dollar Plugin)"

That would have to be it.

Question - would it be best to create individual tables for each country I want to geotarget or should I just put all the geo shortcodes in my main bonus list table. That way, however, the different types of offers wouldn't match up on the separate bonus pages - 100% bonus, high roller bonus, no deposit free spins, etc, etc.

Another question. Been trying Flytonic's geotargeting plugin which seems to work great. BUT, when I view my page on mobile it shows the totally wrong geo and even changes. I have had this confirmed by friends in other countries. On desktop, however, it works 100% of the time. While I had other problems using WP Geotargeting, with that plugin I never had a problem geotargeting on mobile devices. Strange.

I am, but it hasn't caused any problems when visiting the site with my browser + I tried turning of cache and problem still persisted in mobile view. For some reason Flytonic doesn't even come close with geotargeting on mobile devices, but WP Geotargeting works like a charm in this case.

You would need to turn your caching off for pages/posts you're using the geo-targeting feature on as once that page is visited a static version is created and that will be served to all visitors from all geo's.

I found it best to use incognito mode in Chrome to help overcome browser caching of page content when testing.

That is not the issue here, however. WP Geotargeting works with cache on as it uses a different approach, besides I have tried with cache off and even incognito mode and cache plugin inactivated. It's only Flytonic in mobile view that shows wrong geotargeting so it could possibly be a problem with that plugin.

To those of you targeting multiple countries, how have you solved the fact that most casinos offer different welcome bonuses depending on region?

Do you know of any good geotargeting plugins for wordpress that only displays content based on region? I tried one today that looked promising, but didn't work that well.

Targetting different countries sure gives you a whole lot more options as to how many players you can reach really. The hard thing about it, like you said, is that you have to provide players with country-specific content for them. What I do is I manually submit bonus amounts for the countries I target on Wordpress.

I love WP, but the plugin solution is a pain in the ass :-/

Right now we are implementing our custom geotargeting solution at slotu, so you can check it. There is only a green game CTA geotargeted now, but very soon the whole website will be geotargeted. If you have any ideas for improvement, let me know ;-)

Unless you are using something with ajax or custom that takes care of the cache issues, you are better off without the redirects. In fact some programs like Rewards offer GEO targeting on their end within the affiliate link.

I would see US traffic get cached and then UK traffic get offered US deals and completely mess up everything. Also some of the Canadian IPs close to the US border get tagged as US, so plenty of casinos on MAJOR website, tagged me as "you cannot play there" when I could, so there potentially losing customers.

Either way things can go wrong, Outdated IP DB etc etc, and while a customer can still find their casino on your site even if they are not geotargeted and redirected, you are giving them 0 options if you show them ONLY what your geotarget plugin thinks they should see and the IP Database is wrong.

Since my main geos - UK, DE, SE, NO, FIN often have completely different welcome offers I more or less depend on geotargeting. Before geotargeting I listed everything in Euros and players would complain that the site listed one offer but when they signed up it was a completely different offer for their geo.

Now, I installed geotargetingwp pro which is supposed to work with WP Rocket cache plugin and it has worked quite well. But then I heard from visitors that cache didn't work so I cleared cache in WP Rocket and tried different things which made it work again (I don't know how). After a month or so it stops working again.

Not even the developer knows what is wrong (I even gave him ACP access) and he claims he never heard anyone else report similar problem. I had to deactivate WP Rocket for geotargeting to work but since geotargeting is based on a "click" plan, I will quickly run out of clicks without a cache plugin.

This is why I am interested to hear what solutions you guys have. Does anyone here use geotargetingwp and WP Rocket successfully or do you deactivate cache when using geotargeting?

enabled and a separate cache plugin running, no geo-targeting information would show up.

You don't have to use the "click" based plan. They have the Geo Maxmind plugin that you can
download and install. This plugin automatically connects you to the free Maxmind database
that is updated regularly. If you use this, then you can run the plugin without "Cache Mode".

So you didn't get geotargetingwp and WP Rocket to work? According to the developer it is supposed to work and has done so for me on and off. For a month it will work seamlessly but then all of the sudden it stops working. Neither I or the developer knows why.

I don't need to use the "click" based plan? Is the Geo Maxmind plugin from the same developer as geotargetingwp? I didn't see anything about it on their site? Or is it a separate service with a monthly fee?

I did notice geotargetingwp has a free plugin but the options in the backend don't seem to be available unless you upgrade to pro.

I don't have any experience with the WP Rocket cache plugin. We are using the W3 Total Cache plugin.

With the GeoTargeting WP plugin, you have to pay a subscription for the pro version which includes a set amount of server
calls to retrieve the geo-targeting data. Once you run out of server calls, then you need to pay more to use that service.

But, they also offer the Geo Maxmind plugin which is an add-on for the GeoTargeting WP plugin that you can use to get
the geo-targeting data directly from the free Maxmind database. The plugin automatically updates with the latest data.
This plugin is a part of the GeoTargeting WP subscription and it is for webmasters that have too much traffic.

Also, you should find an option within the GeoTargeting WP plugin settings that says "Cache Mode". You are suppose to
turn that on, so that you don't waste server calls for every request. That option would not work when we used it with
an external cache plugin (W3 Total Cache). We had to turn that off to get the geo-targeting to work. By turning
it off, you will waste more calls to the server, but if you use the Geo Maxmind plugin.. you are using their free database.

We are using the pro version of the plugin. If you are using the free version, then I don't know if any of this is available.

geotargetingwp advertise their plugin to work together with WP Rocket cache and for long periods it has indeed worked for me. But all of the sudden it will stop working for unknown reasons. I do have the "Cache Mode" button checked in the settings and WP Rocket cache turned on. Up until now it has worked successfully for me.

Unfortunately, the author of geotargetingwp can't find a solution to my problem and it seems to me almost like he doesn't really care too much since it's only I (according to him) that have this problem.

No. The pro version is subscription based. You need to have a subscription to use the Geo MaxMind plugin. but you can
go with the basic subscription for one web site and not worry about over consuming the clicks because of the free database.

No. I'm running the site with GeoTargeting WP and the W3 Total Cache plugin. It seems to be working fine, but I
don't have the "Cache Mode" checked in GeoTargeting WP because that doesn't seem to work well with the cache plugin.
