It looks like Affactive were behind the hackings.

Read here:

Rival was DDos attacked for months at a time earlier this year resulting in some serious expense to protect the servers.

WOW. That's a great amount of digging Calvin's team did to uncover that whole story. Glad to see AffActive dead and buried.

Errrm, you mean aside from the largest data theft in history by hacking JP Morgan...

1) allegedly - DDOS attacking competition
2) hacking competitors servers, stealing databases, reading emails

I would be literally staggered if these guys have not been involved in even more. Strikes me that they'll do anything for money, anything for power.

I hope their Deliverance is found in the showers at some redneck jail in the US

I don't think I was being cruel, I was praising Calvin's journalistic ability in uncovering more in this case.

BTW - they also committed securities fraud and got a lot of investors to invest in bad deals. That was part of one of the indictments I had read. US doesn't like that too much.

Most of the information came out on Reuters early in the week.

You can see it here.

I know this process will take a long time but I am curious what if anything the USA Does with the banking and player data going forward.I mean if a guy won $250,000 and never paid taxes will they start going after players for income taxes? And affiliates too I suppose...

I would not be surprised if they did.

Let's hope so. Affiliates promoting brands where players got scammed are guilty too.

I don't think there was any solid evidence of players being "scammed", was there?
Delaying tactics on cash-outs for sure (which got a lot worse in the last 12 months), but that is not the same as being scammed or robbed from.

They may but I would say main priority will be find all involved in hacking. Did they do the hacking themselves or hire people?

Anyone involved in hacking deserves what they get and even if that is big bubba in the shower.

Where they the guys actually running the casinos? Or just owned them? Two very different things as far as what data they get.. Since the affiliate managers are all walking around, I assume they where not working to closely with the owners.. I am sure they had a say in whats going on (the owners), but look at how many things they had their hands in... Who has that much time?

This news, didn't really surprise me tbh.

The biggest thing for me about this is, the fact, that these guys also have 1000's of players personal details and I.D docs. Not really the kind of people I would want to have those o_O
That is why it is better to enter their websites not directly, but via intermediate ones
