Hey guys,
Hope you’re doing well! New week, new topic to discuss. Today we’ll cover a heated question which our partners ask their affiliate managers on a daily basis.
And the question is why my landing page has a low conversion rate? Actually there is no simple answer to the question. Every detail matters and not a single one should be taken for granted. Designing and creating a landing page is only the half way to go. But designing and creating a great one is crucial. That’s why we’d mention and break down the most common mistakes which are made by our partners. Feel free to share your thoughts with us!
Mistake Number One: Wrong CTAs
Many webmasters don’t put a lot of attention to the actual text and which emotions will it trigger. F.e., ‘Registration’ button may not be as appealing as ‘Spin’ or ’Start Playing’ and overall feels like a weaker CTA.
Our advice is to read UX books or articles to understand some basic principles and gather some references. Don’t be afraid to conduct tests to find the best performing CTAs. Try using multiple CTAs on a single landing page as not everyone would be happy to register but would accept a bonus with ease.
Mistake Number Two: Lack of Information about Bonuses and Promos
Does an affiliate program hand out welcome bonuses? Make sure you’ve mentioned them and try to make them as much personal as possible. Individual bonuses are much more appealing than bonuses available for everyone.
Find a way to visualize bonuses. You may use spinning wheels or slots, scratch cards and other elements. Try to make them with the matching colors if possible.
Mistake Number Three: Being Too Pushy
No need to lock either a registration button or bonus’ banner all over the screen. Don’t push the users, try to motivate them to learn more and stay on the page longer. The more users view your content as spam the less the conversion rate would be.
Mistake Number Four: No Quality Reviews
The reviews must be unique, clear and visible (don’t put them at the very bottom). Don’t make a carousel with dozens of reviews either. Instead, go with 5-7 quality reviews.
Mistake Number Five: Make It Too Big
It’s great to know if you have the resources to build a 12-16 screens landing page. The thing is, how many users will actually scroll the page till the footer? No need to overcrowd the landing page with information. Be precise and to the point. The users shouldn’t feel tired while scrolling through the landing page.
These are the most common mistakes the partners tend to make when designing and creating landing pages. If there are still questions left please talk to one of our affiliate managers who will make sure that your landing pages are ready for the highest conversion rates!
