Just got this:
Hi Mark,

This is to advise you that your payment of £38.48 for the merchant SkyBet will be paid shortly. Transfers are being made today and should hopefully be with you in the next 3 working days.

In case you were unaware from previous communications, the threshold for payments now stands at just £20 as we are paying by bank transfer, electronic transfer or ACH USD only and payments are now managed in house. In every case we will attempt to make your payment, however if details are missing from your account there may be a delay or the payment may fail. If this happens, we will attempt to contact you and resolve the issue.

If you have any questions about your payment, don’t hesitate to ask.

Thanks,
Matt Price

Yeah - not surprised they lowered it since they pay their affiliates an insulting paltry 5% commission!
That £38 they are sending me is for £2,000+ in deposits and £770 net revenue

Thanks again you misers!

Now that more and more affiliate programs are operating out of places like the UK (and not back-water tax havens). One day, one of these programs will steal from the wrong person... If I was an AM et al working for these crooks, I'd be super careful where I went at night...just sayin!

@KasinoKing - Your in the UK, and I'm guessing Sky are too. No (lol) not suggesting you have someone knee-capped... But isn't there any type of legal recourse available to you? Out here we have a small claims tribunal, where, amounts up to $25K are heard. Takes place in the magistrates court (informally)...

Here's the rub, no solicitors can act for a client. Hence ALL parties have to conduct their own representation.

Could be worth a shot if you have something similar over there.

Here is a link with information on the small claims procedure in the UK: xxx.citizensadvice.org.uk/law-and-rights/legal-system/taking-legal-action/small-claims/

A similar small claims procedure is available in EU member states as well: hxxps://e-justice.europa.eu/content_small_claims-42-en.do

I do not understand why nobody takes them to court. Even if you lose like 1.000 a month. It's 12.000 a year. In 3 years and with selling your assets, it will be like over 50.000 you're losing. People are "taught a lesson" here for way less.

To be honest - I can't be arsed!
Even though they really pissed me off, I have more important things to do with my time.

Some affiliates here (or at GPWA?) were talking of getting a joint action together - and I pledged £1,000 to the cause (I would STILL offer that), but I'm not going alone against the mighty Sky. That class action never happened, of course.

Before they stabbed all their affiliates in the back I had earned around $US 4,000 per year with them for 3 years, so their retroactive rip-off is costing me about $3,200 per year (20% drop in RS - from 25% to 5%). It IS a LOT of money for me - but I just think I would have no chance of successfully suing them.

PS: Of course, I stopped promoting them immediately they made this change, but I had a reasonably big loyal player base, and a few are still playing now - more than a year later. I wish they would just stop. :(

There only needs to be one, a single solitary class action, taken against one program, and the rest will sit up and take notice. Until this happens, programs like Sky will continue to do as they please, and behave like 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels'.

My bank charges approximately $15 fee for incoming international wire transfers, so if I received a $20 minimum affiliate payment, and I subtracted the bank fee and the tax fee, I might have enough money to buy a lollipop :)

If affiliates are talking about taking action together, one thing is very sure: nothing will happen.

In the end, people that don't do too much business with them will drop them. Their big affiliates have customized deals and some other parties perhaps do more CPA or flat instead of RS. So, nothing happens.

I also think many affiliates do underestimate the costs of a process and just want to follow if somebody else is taking the action. To explain your problem to a decent lawyer and let him write a simple reply is costing like € 2.500. That's just the beginning.

I took them off site as soon as they introduced their totally unrealistic quotas, as a smaller affiliate there was no way I could get the quota each month. So f**k em
Seeing KK's experience it was a wise decision

This was my approach too - Sky were never a big earner (lots of advertising but little substance on their site) and it was better to discontinue and focus on more valuable partners.

As for discussions of class action and/or small claims court - it was never going to happen from halfway around the world (in our case).

Even if you were successful in claiming for past customers - I could not see a situation where the program would want to work with these affiliates going forward.
So even a win would be a "Pyrrhic victory" as it would come at the expense of future business.
