we cannot be expected to continue paying our affiliates for old business if the affiliate has not actively promoted our brand or referred a single customer for a significant period of time.

Wrong. What does the continued promotion of your business have to do with regular customers that were referred by an affiliate months ago? I'll answer for you ... nothing. It is not like existing customers are going to stop wagering with you because an affiliate site changes a few banners or pages around.

There are many programs in this industry that advertise and pay a commission FOR LIFE of the player. So yes you can and in fact are expected to pay for "old business" because if it wasn't for the affiliate referring them to you, you would not have had the player in the first place.

I was another of the many affiliates who were not emailed when you dropped the old program and replaced it, contrary to your statements above. Thankfully we have never (and probably will never after reading your post) sent you much business.

I highly encourage you to submit your program for certification here. You might be surprised at the result.

Yes i think it would very useful for them to be apart of AGD and update the terms on their site. I know for sure many people here would appreciate it and start promoting them. Its a win win for all of us.

Affiliates will have more trust and send them traffic.

Some affiliates (not all) who have been previously been wronged will maybe jump back on board if they become certified.

VC will gain more affiliates from the community.

Their reputation will start to improve.

All in all everyone will be somewhat happier....

But as a first step I think its a good start they come here and express their ideas and reasons for past issues.

I have a feeling they will do whats right and be a member here and work with us all and get back on track..

For the record - I want to make sure everyone knows I have been paid up to and including the the 12th of March 2010.

I do not see a change in my stats after they re opened my account - but i do see more activity on the account. It does not show the rev share option.

I would assume this will change Julian? I will see all the deductions, rev net and all that soon?

I do see on 13th - my player has went ahead and continued to wager!!! This is good news for me since he is active and still deposits and wagers frequently....

I hope this continues and we have no more issue with closure of my account. As its my traffic i would deserve earnings on this player for life.

Please consider joining here and get certified please. Then lets work on fixing the stats and moving forward on our other sites and prosper together!!!

That means all of us!! :)

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I did a search for Victor Chandler and this is what I found.
I wish I had seen it when it first cropped up last year...

I had seen zero activity for... well all of 2010 to be honest; had 2 sign-ups, but no action.
But in January this year I got a new player who has started to spend fairly big (£29,000 of wagering), and my commission reached the minimum payment level of £500 in April.
However, no payment was made, and when I chased it yesterday they said my commission was "written off" due to the minimum activity rule!

I'm hoping I can get this sorted in my favour - I'll definitely be seeking them out in Ireland on Wednesday - but if not resolved, I think they should be put in the rogue pit here at AGD.
I can't really understand why they aren't already in there...

WOW KK i am sorry to hear that. That is just brutal. Please keep us all updated when and if they fairly pay you without conditions. This is crazy.
Just a quick update to say I did meet Julian in Dublin and he is a very nice bloke! ;)

I think the "Written off" commission was a mis-understanding by the lady I was dealing with because she might have thought I was talking about 2010, not 2011.
Julian said they will definitely pay me everything I have earned with them - but I still could be "in trouble" in the future due to the minimum activity rule.
I pointed out that it's very hard for a small affiliate like myself to guarantee to get ANY players, let alone 1 per month (which I think is what's needed). I will try to do what I can, but I'm not too optimistic to be honest and so I may have to end up dropping them anyway. I hope not though, because apart from this one silly rule they are a very good program to work with.

Final update: They paid me at last!

Just received the total amount outstanding from "Newcote Services" who own VC.
Part of that payment covered March 2009...
But that's because I earned zip from April'09 til Jan'11, and it wasn't until April this year that I reached the minimum payment threshold.
Just goes to show; in this business, patience is a virtue - in fact, it's bloody essential! ;)
