From my experience, freelancer.com usually does the trick. I've tried Fiverr but it isn't too good based on the low amounts of cash they ask for.

Had mixed results with freelancer, things to note about them....

• the little country flags on the accounts of the "freelancers" mean diddly squat.
• many of the "freelancers" are actually not the ones doing the work they are "middlemen", when you give them a job they just re-post it on freelancer or other sites and take a nice commission.

If you participate in the communities formed around your product, on social media, or forums, keep your eyes peeled. We've found a handful of decent writers over the years just by paying attention to people who freely write content in these domains. A simple approach and asking them if they'd be interested in writing in a similar fashion, for money, worked well for us. Our current main editor was even recruited in this fashion. If you think about it, people's posts are their resumes and all you have to do be vigilant to find a knowledgeable candidate.

I have a very reliable source of content which I was a part of building their service based on my SEO requirements. Scaling and quality of content never goes hand in hand, but with these guys it did finally.

A few years back I was ordering x500 reviews and static pages for a couple of brands and some misc. sites:

• Brand 1 - 1 language
• Brand 2 - 3 languages
• Brand 3 - 2 languages
• Brand 4 - 5 languages and some sports betting static
• Affiliate website 100 pages
• A PBN

All in all it was around 6500 articles which HAD TO BE UNIQUE and preferably compete on different keywords. We started out with Word docs + Dropbox. Dude, that was messy...

Then our supplier starting to developing the platform which controls orders, quality and delivery very well. I alpha, beta and friggin cetalicious tested the platform.

They can upload the articles to Wordpress including external/internal links, images with alt-tags, etc + keyword research (never tested). Does all EU languages and got a very good reputation among Scandi and UK affiliate/brands for their Gambling content. Choose between money site quality or PBN crap.

That's an impressive amount of content. Out of curiosity, may I ask if all that effort returned the invested work on your brands?
I personally never engaged in a project that large so I would be thrilled to hear how it turned out.

Personal effort? Absolutely not, I got burned out after this and quit not much long after.

Brand effort? Yes
In short term we took back all branded searches from the affiliates. A lot of more pages got indexed which had never seen the light of Google before.
It also gave the BI team A LOT more data not only in terms of search data but on page such as longer sessions, page views etc.

Long term; I dont track their performance but ive seen certain slots pop up on page 1. The biggest issue for a brand which have not had organic players before is to convert them once they land. That actually takes some brain effort to set up got funnels and not only bash out email campaign.
