According to Brightshare T&C :

5.10.5. The Affiliate shall be entitled for Commission for new Player that has deposited within 90 calendar days as of the new Player’s registration date.

Is this a standard procedure ?

It's not standard but I know they are not the only ones with this affiliate unfriendly term, I can't think off the top of my head who else has it though

Since when is this term?
Now I really do not wonder anymore that we hardly make money with Brightshare.

I am amazed that still nobody from Brightshare did reply here!!!

Based on their silence and the wording in the email, I figure they indeed intend to apply this retroactively to existing contracts. If so, I am done with them.

The 90 day deposit rule bs is also nuts. There is no purpose in this other than trying to shaft affiliate partners.

The 90 days term is new as well. I'm talking to the Brightshare folks, but at this point I would suspend all promotions of their properties to be honest. That is my opinion as these terms are a HUGE red flag.

Those changes affect ALL affiliates! However, if you are value to them, they maybe let you keep your old deal. (with restrictions, of course: 90 days rule).

I really hope there is a chance that they undo all new rules.

What makes you think they affect all affiliates? I was told by Brightshare the new terms are NOT retroactive.

I am an affiliate with Brightshare for about two years. My AM told me: "We can let some of our affiliates keep their old deals. You are one of them. However, you need to send us more traffic, so that we have a reason to keep you on your special deal".

(This is not a real quote, just summing up the essence)

Can you send this to me? If this is the case, then Brightshare will be thrown into the rogue category which Roxy is about to be thrown into. This really irks me as I was told it is NOT retroactive.

Furthermore I did receive an update (newsletter). There is not a single word in it, that changes will not affect old affiliates. For me it reads as those changes apply to all affiliates.

Brightshare said:
Dear xxx,

As we announced recently, our clients have now moved to be hosted in Malta under a European license (LGA).

Due to the changes in the market and current industry standards, we revisited the financial and business terms of the current Affiliate program.

The terms were updated on the BrightShare site, and will be taking effect as of May 1st 2013.

For your convenience, the main changes to the terms and conditions are listed below:

  • Rev share will be calculated on a sliding scale according to the number of new players the affiliate brings in each month.
  • We will continue with NO negative carry-over, with the addition of a high-roller policy.
  • Payment will be made for new unique players that were not already active with any of our clients.
  • Rev share affiliates will receive a single aggregated rev share payment each month for all products, markets and brands.
  • Revenue share for markets that are closed (i.e. France, Italy, etc.) will be paid based on a reduced rev share percentage.

We are, as always, 100% committed to our tag line: Playing Fair, Sharing Success. You will continue to enjoy all the benefits of affiliating with BrightShare, with top revenues, payments like clockwork and the dedicated support of our professional affiliate managers and support team.

eCOGRA certification for both the affiliate program and the casinos will continue to be renewed annually, and our casinos will continue to work to produce the best offerings in the market, while entering new, attractive markets and incorporating the latest technology in the industry. This will include expanding their mobile offerings and providing affiliates with additional marketing tools to enhance their performance.

Please do not hesitate to contact your affiliate manager with any questions you may have.

These changes go into effect on May 1st, and as such, BrightShare reports will not be accessible during this update.

We look forward to maintaining our strong partnership and continuing to grow our success together.

I'm done with Brightshare too, permanently. I was done with eCOGRA many years ago - worse than useless.

I can confirm that the changes are retroactive and apply to the entire player base. In my stats, I see that I am now earning 15% on all of the players I ever sent to them.

All because they couldn't convert any of the hundreds of visitors I sent to them in the last few months. (Meanwhile, conversions are just fine at many other places.)

This is fucked up -- definitely not the way to treat a partner of 8 years!

Marcia or Liyu or Roberto, please contact me ASAP.

I can confirm their database is f#cked up, could not convert hundreds of visits. Besides that to many players with "0" all of a sudden.

Anyone removing Brightshare brands already?
Or should we wait, is there still hope they change their mind?

What are the people at bs thinking?? More than 10 years of decent reputation down the drain within one week. Unlike Bwin or Ladbrokes, Jackpot Factory/ Spiral rely on affiliate traffic though. While the hijacked affiliate earnings might deliver them higher earnings in the coming months, this decision will doubtlessly hurt them in the long run.

Agree 100%

I sent letters to Brightshare and Roxy Affiliates letting them know that we will take action on this next week unless decisions are reversed. We will do what we can to make sure that affiliates are aware of their rogue behavior. We will be dealing with this on an affiliate program AND casino level.

Engineer - I bet the traffic you send them is converting just not on your account; your comment (Meanwhile, conversions are just fine at many other places.)
tells me they are probably running 2 x sets of accounts. IMHO - Brightshare have smelt like a rat for sometime; too many things not adding up here. I hope they have increased there adwords budget 10 x for the extra traffic they will need to find.
Brightshare aka "Mudguard", shiny on top and shit underneath....
