So far we're more or less unchanged in overall traffic. Few days it was up a handful of percentage points and a few days it was down a handful of percentage points (MoM).

Sure some KW have gone up and others down, but that happens all the time anyway. In other words, nothing really to report so far.

Will continue to keep an eye on things though.

We lost in especially Germany and UK almost 50% visibility and this our main market. But it seems rankings are still jumping and the past two days have been much better. Seems we have to wait 1-2 weeks more to see the real results.

I dropped thousands of keywords as per the tools, but increased traffic and conversions are up massively, So im guessing this was a quality tweak, what has your actual performance been like?

care to share any graphs as it would be interesting to see the effects, obviously blank any sensitive data. I only ask as it only makes sense that for traffic to improve with conversions at least some rankings must have improved? My performance sign up wise has obviously gone down with the rankings drop, also seeing pages, like review pages bounce around like mad still

I also see 100s of KW just dropping completely. In Search console 70% less impressions but average position much higher and of course much much less traffic. See plenty irrelevant results coming up. Like for example various official sites for a certain blackjack game terms. Of course not related to search intent in any way.

Worth being patient for a couple more weeks - things will settle. Google will likely be looking at the CTR and bounce rates of the sites that have 'won' as a result of this change and making new evaluations. Maintaining usual 'safe' SEO activities is what we're doing.

Great to see above that some people have had success and rewards from this update - superior content and commitment to quality really is important.

Been dropped so hard. Approximately -30% of daily google unique visits. Of course it could have been worse, but even previous BERT update didn't caused such problem like this one. Affected all GEOs.

Most affiliate sites have suffered, even well-known players of the market such as AskGamblers, JohnyBet, CasinoHex, etc.
For some, traffic has increased, for example Сasino Guru.

I have some theories but still not sure in them.

Did a quick check with a week by week comparison for the past few months and it seems my clicks have actually increased after the update. Not a ton, but a noticeable uptick since the update.

I have also been making other changes so it could be due to that as well, such as moving my sites away from WordPress (Using Jekyll now) to improve site speed and making other updates along the way to improve other metrics as well.

Would expect rankings shifts to continue - they've reassessed sites but they'll then reassess their reassessment based on if user engagement etc goes up and bounces go down etc.

moving my sites away from WordPress (Using Jekyll now) to improve site speed

Without blowing smoke up my own backside, I've never had an issue with WP site speeds. Though, I use the barest minimal plugins and only use plugins if it's too much hassle to code or short-codes wont cut it. Host on my own server (which runs litespeed, and WP litespeed cache), and I optimise the heck out of the theme coding etc., etc.

Given I don't use WP's blog, thinking about kicking AIOSEO plugin to kerb (100K lines of code). Instead, I'll populate the static pages from a flat file.

But if Jekyll works better for you, then that's good too :)

In the past I've had issues with bots attacking my login pages (had to hide them), DDOS attacks, site injections from WP not being updated. All easy fixes but mostly all non issues with a static site. No DB to backup, and great pagespeed. Yet site edits and updates are still easy to do. I have a few WP sites and a few Jekyll sites now.

The real reason I started using it was after the WP block editor update... Drove me crazy at first lol.

But traffic from Google has improved for the sites I have switched over. But at the same time, while switching them over I update and better optimize everything as well, so that could also be part of the reason.

why not just htaccess the wp-login?
I avoid plugins as much as possible, coding what i need my self and score 100/100 on many speed-tests even with 100's of images and terrible ugly inline css.
Also google Lighthouse test and 9 times of 10 i get 100 on all scores.

On Topic : I have a recently launched site, that has no bigger rankings at all, but during this update i have gained bouth FAQ and Stars -snippets, on a site that have been "online" only for 5 weeks -> Super Happy and i quess speed matters

I hear you. Hopefully it will settle soon. Its crazy that the ones at the top still have so many spammy bought black-hat links!

It's rare for people to get ahead and maintain based solely on links - what are the other attributes in terms of content, user experience, page speed, indexation, brand visibility, social, site structure, platform, author profiles..
